gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Pretty confident he wasn't picking on your typing error Really kid? How observant. Remember our conversation regarding Saunders when he was acquired? I mentioned i wasn't high on him but you kept preaching that he'll put up the same or a better WAR than Melky. Now that's something to really laugh at.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 wat C'mon Gruber. You've said a few smart things lately, don't go down the Goins rabbit hole again. He's awful. I hear you, but you can't say he's been AWFUL.

Saunders has played in just a couple games and Melky has been worth 0 fWAR so far?
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Really kid? How observant. Well you replied to his post saying "Is that all you got punk? Picking on typos? " when in fact, he wasn't picking on your typo at all...so...

Gruber600 projection algo: Take 32 PA, extrapolate to 600 PA and then sprinkle in some BlueJays homerism and scoutingisms. Seems legit.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Was not picking on your typo BTW, when you're a fence player, KNOWING that your playing time won't be dictated by your on the field performance, actually adds a level of comfort and confidence, which in turn should increase your production. If you have ever played in an organized competitive league, then you'll know where i'm coming from. In this case it's even more exaggerated because of the financial implications ($50k - $500k).

I play and I don't really notice a difference. An at bat is an at bat. No financial implications, sure, but I'm scared pretty much all non-Bautista guys are scared the money could stop coming in just like that. How's Kalfus doing BTW, just curious. RIP King

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Options 3-5 are pretty much the same thing... He's doing that to split the vote so it looks like option 2 is the leading choice. If you voted for option 1 and aren't trolling, seek help
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Yeah. Then the mods could ban anyone who voted for 1 or 2, and in doing so greatly improve the forum. #2 isn't too bad. As a 22 year old 5th starter he's above my expectations, I thought he'd be like Ricky Romero walking in runs in the 1st and leaving after that. Surprisingly he's K'ing guys as much as he's walking them and getting the 5th inning

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 So even if everything stays the same your 22 year old, first year starter, pitching 5th gives you 173 innings throwing 135 bb, 130 So along the way while winning 16 games and this is considered a fail !!! Wtf Take it, Live with it or Shut the f*** up! Back to the Hive, Ban please!

Surprisingly he's K'ing guys as much as he's walking them and getting the 5th inning Sub-replacement level pitching should not be classified as "okay" regardless of how old the pitcher in question is. Aaron Sanchez has been garbage this year, and shouldn't even be in the rotation.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 He is doing fine. Once he gets more comfortable we will see more innings I rather he walk guys then give up double and homeruns. His era is less than 4 which is spectacular for a rookie

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Really? I think Ryan Goins is more than holding his own so far this year. I never did say Goins was going to be a star, so how exactly am i wrong? Ryan Goins so far -0.2 WAR this season. Not holding his own.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Sanchez has been awful this season! When you're averaging close to 7 BB/9 - its unacceptable for any pitcher regardless if they're 22 or 28.

He needs to be demoted - he clearly is not ready for pitching out of a big league rotation yet.
