Laika Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 AA is officially antsy. Lots of add/drops recently.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Delaballs is vindicated Still would've kept Matt West..
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 It's a good thing they wasted West for Copeland. And there goes an option year on Castro. Hopefully he's being moved to a rotation.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 And Sanchez stays.. Wat? Didn't you catch his last start? Only 2 ER man!

Hopefully he's being moved to a rotation. Cycling through Albers and Copeland in 3 days, both of whom were off the 40, while giving up West in the process really was a mind boggling series of moves. Add it to AA's career highlights.
nowayjose Verified Member Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Looking at fangraphs SP projection. We currently have a 6.8 WAR projection for the year, tied for 3rd worst in the majors. We are not making playoffs how this team is currently constructed. What do we do? 1- Ride it out and hope for the best (most likely option). 2- Trade future for current SP help 3- Trade Bautista and EE and whoever for upper level prospects with 2017 in mind.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 What happened to Colt Hynes? Delabar sucks.....
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Castro, Pompey, and Norris all were handed opening day roster spots and given one month worth of rope. Just insane. Hopefully their careers don't suffer, lol.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Package Bautista and Edwin together. Get elite prospects.
nowayjose Verified Member Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 That's what I want. Build for 2017. Hoff, Stro, Osuna, Norris, Travis, Pompey, Donaldson and those elite prospects.

BTS Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 The Miguel Castro Roller Coaster: A ball -> MLB closer -> minor leagues It's still unbelievable that this sequence of events actually happened.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Package Bautista and Edwin together. Get elite prospects. Bautista and Reyes to the Yankees. They might be the one team willing to take Reyes given how bad Didi has been.

Its May lol. See where the team is in July then see what direction to go. The team has an elite offence. If the pitching comes around this team can have a realistic shot at the division. Rest of the AL East hasn't done much.
nowayjose Verified Member Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Aaron Judge, Jorge Mateo and Greg Bird.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I don't see why you'd package Reyes with Bautista in a deal. As valuable as Bautista is, you'd be eating a big chunk of that by trading him with Reyes' contract.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Any talk about trading vets is just garbage right now. The division is wide open. The Jays could conceivably win it with Randy Wolff making 20 starts.

Dickey and Buehrle will regress towards their league average-ish career means as the season goes along, Hutch will find it, and Norris has a decent chance of coming back strong and soon if it really is a dead arm issue.

Its just hard to have any optimism for the pitching staff, with Dickey and Buehrle aging, Sanzhez over his head and Norris needing more time in AAA.
oakville69 Verified Member Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Package Bautista and Edwin together. Get elite prospects. I disagree. They need to be resigned to extensions. We can't replace their offense with prospects.

Even if this happens, we still only have an average to slightly below average rotation. And if Boston goes out and gets a pitcher we won't have a chance at the division.

Thats why you don't let personal bias influence the team. Sure the pitching has been awful but it probably won't be this bad for too much longer. I think I read somewhere the Jays started out with the same record last year. If the pitching can get going this team can win a lot of games.
tercet Verified Member Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 U know how when u grew up playing sports, probably a few times the coach's son would also be on the team no-matter how bad he is. That seems to be the case with Sanchez bc AA drafted him, and traded away everyone but him.

There will be improvement, just not that much.

And if Boston goes out and gets a pitcher we won't have a chance at the division. Boston has more problems than just pitching(can't hit with RISP, little extra base power, struggles with Betts, Bogaerts and now Swihart, of which Betts and Swihart should be in AAA right now, Napoli looking cooked).. plus, calling Swihart up hurts his value. Plus, if Boston continues to struggle, they'll be selling veterans instead of trading for someone like Hamels.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
