and he can double as the team mascot.... I really don't understand this move. Diaz is Goins lite.

I'm sorry but it's f***ing ridiculous for our management to not DL Reyes and Bautista. Reyes has a f***ing fractured rib, it's not going to get better playing baseball.

 

Bautista can't throw, who knows how serious the injury actually is. Now you're running a poor defender out at 1B who has a bad back and back to having 3 OF on the roster, there isn't any reason Bautista shouldn't be on the DL as well. This is just horrendous management from the top down.

Probably because don't want to DFA Muni after 15 days.

They could do that and quite possibly should do that but they won't. Maybe if the team had four healthy outfielders, they would feel more comfortable with that option but for now Goins and Valencia are basically the 4th and 5th outfielders.

Well said. I'm sure Reyes and Bautista want to play, but keeping them healthy is far more important than getting their bats in the lineup at 50% health. Not being able to throw is a big deal. Not being able to hit from the left side as a switch hitter is a big deal.

 

This is what happens when the GM and manager are fighting for their jobs. It's gotten to the point where I almost wish the Jays traded Hoffman for Duquette. Ok, that's not true, but these clowns need to be replaced.

Anyone have an update on Izturis?

 

It's sad that this is a concern. He's terrible shortstop but I'd still rather have him on the roster than Diaz.

Would like to know that as well. But like I was saying, should just use Donaldson at short vs LHP. Why use Diaz who isn't going to have watchable at bats?
