fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I guess that's the end of that
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Barry Davis AA says he hasn't progressed to the point where he feels he could make it back this yr and he's in final yr of deal. Romero took it well
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 About time. Total flop. Now watch him pitch like an ace again with another team. Money talks.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Barry Davis AA says Romero was grateful for his time with #bluejays. He still plans to pitch again and hopes to catch on with another organization.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Romero took it well As if he gives a s***, all the millions he stole from the team. As fans we're not happy with him, he was a total waste of money. I don't give a rats ass how he feels.

You can't control injuries. He gave it his all. He never stole anything from team.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Shi Davidi AA says #BlueJays released Ricky Romero because they didn't think he'd factor for them before his contract expired at season's end.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 He probably caught Miss USA sleeping with his best friend, never been the same after that.

If that actually happens, then Romero is a complete asshat. You have to believe that over these past couple years Romero has been doing everything in his power to become a major league pitcher again. If he hasn't, then he is a moron.

JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Again? Well in a few games. We all had high hopes that he would be an ace one day only to let us all down. One of the worst contracts by the Jays.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Can't blame the organization. He was as good as gone after this year anyway. He was listed as being on the DL in AA so no chance he was going to be back in the bigs with the Jays unless he had a miraculous recovery and/or the pitching the Jays had ahead of him completely fell apart. I'm sure he tried to work his way back up since he was a fairly good starter, then an All Start, then had some injury issues. He probably would wanted to prove the critics wrong and get back on the 40 man roster, and show he was more than a waste. But like mentioned, he probably will catch on elsewhere and wind up an Ace lol That always seems to happen with the Jays. A player falls from grace or stays injured/doesn't produce, is let go, winds up a decent or better player elsewhere. But seeing as he's 30 now it's going to be tough. But as often said in baseball "if you're left handed and breathing you have a chance." If another club doesn't pick him up, he could go to the independent leagues and see if he can still pitch. Someone might take a flyer on him. It seems like he fell apart physically and mentally at the same time since it wasn't reported he had any major (ie TJS) type injuries just nagging leg/knee issues. I wish him the best. I hate seeing players have to end their careers injured. That being said, he made millions, had some good years with the club, so better than many have done or could have done. Not a surprise he was going to be let go. How else would he have taken it? Get mad and stomp his feet? He knew he had a snowball's chance making the Jays again and was injured so he'd stand a better chance elsewhere. Watch him wind up in San Diego's organization.
souvlaki Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Ricky Ro will join his Battery Mate JP Arencibia in the unemployment line. I wonder what happened to Ricky's dog "Ace"? Poor dog will be a constant reminder of a has been.

JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Contract was fine and only dumbasses hoped he'd be an ace. Said THE forum's dumbass. LOL Can you ever say anything intelligent?
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I'll just pretend he never played here. What a messed up tenure he had here. Maybe he can go sign wherever JPA is now. They can resurrect "TEAM UNIT". Remember that LOL

One of the worst contracts by the Jays. bitch please At the time it was a great contract. I have no problems with all those contracts that were signed (Romero/Hill/Lind). If all of them kept producing they would outproduce their contract. If Stroman got a 6 year $50 million contract right now I bet you'd call it a steal. And if Stroman comes down with 2 Tommy Johns in 2016/2017 and becomes Kyle Drabek I bet you'd call it one of the worst contracts in Blue Jays history as well.

Many complained about giving him that big contract because he was a rookie that really didn't prove himself yet, and they were right. So the bitching is justified.

GNick49 Verified Member Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 I guess that's the end of that Why you don't lock pitchers up long term. Romero was once a 6.3 WAR, ace of our staff and our all-star game rep.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 his super hot girlfriend dumped him, he forgot how to pitch, got fired and he was having pancakes every morning with JPA.... poor guy can't a break.
spats Verified Member Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Ricky Romero has been released by the Jays. Strange things going on in Blue Jays land. He pitched today in Extended Spring before Clinton Hollon and then is released later today. Sorry. I didn't notice that this topic had already been started.
