baubau Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Goins in LF = puke With the amount of balls that the O's put in LF I would rather have Goins in RF and Pillar in LF. Pillar is the better fielder. If the O's I am just going to wait for something from Sanchez in the zone and just tee off to LF fly ball out or not.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 If they were fine with playing a guy in LF who didn't have much experience, why not just stick Valencia out there. Yeah pretty much anyone would be better. Well, actually....maybe not Navarro.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 If they were fine with playing a guy in LF who didn't have much experience, why not just stick Valencia out there. Because LH Hitter, duh. Also, cue 10,000 Orioles morons screaming about Bautista being a pussy for not playing tonight because he's scared of being hit.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Goins had 2 hits last night. Not saying that will happen again but I'm sure thats the reasonZ Pretty sure that's his monthly hit contribution. I wouldn't expect anymore.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Well that's gotta be embarrassing.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Why isn't Bautista in the lineup
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 From trying to throw out Young? was a dumb move. I can see the Oriolols fans and commentators laughing. Now he injured his shoulder just so he can prove a point in a lop-sided game.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Should have put Saunders on a plane first thing this morning.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Well that's gotta be embarrassing. lmao no way. That's the excuse to keep him out of this series. Delmon Young is on the ground laughing right now.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Well that's gotta be embarrassing. Goddamn that is stupid.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 MVP Travis is back!! LVP Goins too!
Gorlak Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 If they were fine with playing a guy in LF who didn't have much experience, why not just stick Valencia out there. Goins is the best choice defensively so I think Gibbons is just being prudent, Offense is good enough without Bautista anyway.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Well, at least that solves the Saunders conundrum. But why does he need a DL stint? Just put him as DH.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Bautista will PH for Goins late in the game and will hit another homer.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Well, at least that solves the Saunders conundrum. But why does he need a DL stint? Just put him as DH. What Conundrum? Saunders is easily the way better player then Pillar. Pillar should get a spot start here and there vs a lefty in LF and the odd breather for Pompey. That's it.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Well, at least that solves the Saunders conundrum. But why does he need a DL stint? Just put him as DH. Not worth the risk, with a weak shoulder he wouldn't hit well anyway.

Would be a good defensive replacement as well, Could shift Bautista to DH towards the end of close games.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Would be a good defensive replacement as well, Could shift Bautista to DH towards the end of close games. I don't think they'd get away with this kind of rule breaking, they're not the Yankees... Edit: Wait... Now that I think about it... Is that allowed? I know if you move a DH to the field, you lose the DH, but can you move a fielder to DH when you bring in a defensive replacement? I don't think I've ever seen it done, but I don't know if it's specifically forbidden...
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Summary: Bautista had an existing shoulder problem, aggravated it and made it worse on the throw to first in his attempt to put out Delmon Young. It isn't just a "sore" shoulder, as an MRI revealed a strain. He's day-to-day right now, but Gibbons isn't ruling out a DL stint. He wasn't able to throw a baseball today.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 This is the first I heard of an arm problem for Bautista. Hopefully it won't affect his arm down the line.

At least Saunders is back soon.
