Gorlak Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I don't think they'd get away with this kind of rule breaking, they're not the Yankees... Edit: Wait... Now that I think about it... Is that allowed? I know if you move a DH to the field, you lose the DH, but can you move a fielder to DH when you bring in a defensive replacement? I don't think I've ever seen it done, but I don't know if it's specifically forbidden... I can't see why not, but I may be wrong.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I suddenly feel less anxious about tonight.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Bautista can DH or play 1B. Thats where he wold be best anyway. SS Reyes 3B Donaldson DH Bautista 1B Encanacion RF Saunders 2B Travis C Martin CF Pompey LF Pillar If he can't throw a baseball, what makes you think he can play 1B or swing a bat as hard as he does?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Bautista admits regret at throwing to 1st, and admits that emotions got the better of him at least he finally admits something.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 wut? Not sure if serious. I would like to think Gibby's not that dumb.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Jays lineup for today: 1. Jose Reyes (S) SS 2. Devon Travis ® 2B 3. Josh Donaldson ® 3B 4. Edwin Encarnacion ® DH 5. Justin Smoak (S) 1B 6. Russell Martin ® C 7. Dalton Pompey (S) CF 8. Kevin Pillar ® RF 9. Ryan Goins (L) LF

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Can we come up with a line-up without Reyes and Travis? Just to see what would happen if those two were out for an extended period of time ;/

The Jays are not short of superstars worthy of a beaning.

I doubt Baltimore would be dumb enough to have Ubaldo throw at him. Ubaldo was thrown out of the last game for doing it and would probably be looking at a decent suspension.

The best choice would be Bautista, but I doubt that happens. Donaldson is a good choice too.

Besides, in a Ubaldo vs Sanchez game, there's a pretty high likelihood that someone gets beaned even if it isn't intentional.

I wouldn't be surprised if Showalter told his team not to throw at the Jays, He doesn't want this to escalate.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Goins in LF.. bear in mind Gibbons had him taking reps in LF, CF and RF, along with 3B, trying to turn him more into a super-utility player.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Can we come up with a line-up without Reyes and Travis? Just to see what would happen if those two were out for an extended period of time ;/ Would still have Martin, EE, Donaldson and Bautista, So it wouldn't be a complete dumpster fire.

Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 It's happening! I'm grooming myself to be a Wayne Gretzky type.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 When Saunders comes back the improvement in Pillar's defense over Bautista should be fine for Bautista to DH and not lose anything.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 DH until his arm is atleast ok obviously. If he can still swing the bat you try to keep him the lineup. Or you just risk injuring him long term.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 When Saunders comes back the improvement in Pillar's defense over Bautista should be fine for Bautista to DH and not lose anything. I think Pillar in a corner outfield spot provides more value than Smoak at first or Navarro at DH, But not enough that I would mess with Bautista.
