strochez Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 In the Jays brass assembled to watch him were Tinnish, AA, Charlie Wilson, Sandy Alomar Sr and one of my favourite players, Carlos Delgado. AA on the phone for an extended period...wonder if there is a move in the offing..he was pacing back and forth seemingly in serious discourse. Think this means Hoffman is on the block or a move involving someone else is coming?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Think this means Hoffman is on the block or a move involving someone else is coming? No. Jeff is untouchable right now.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Watched Hoffman today throw 3 innings. Faced 10 batters..1 hbp, 5 k's, and the others were weak groundouts. His fastball sat at 95,hitting 97 a couple times...out pitch is a devastating breaking ball. You should take pictures Especially those behind homeplate. Circulate the pic around and maybe people may recognize some scouts from certain organizations.. Hoffman for Freeman. Do eet.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Think this means Hoffman is on the block or a move involving someone else is coming? Hoffman is going to be the Ace of the staff...heck maybe at the end of this season (unlikely), possibly at the start of next season
deepz Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 No. Jeff is untouchable right now. So you wouldn't do Kris Bryant for Hoffman straight up?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 So you wouldn't do Kris Bryant for Hoffman straight up? Heck no

BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Subtracting Dickey and to a much lesser pain Buerhle but adding Stroman and Hoffman is going to feel like Christmas. Extended Christmas.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 So you wouldn't do Kris Bryant for Hoffman straight up? Jeff is untouchable, in context. Hoffman will be top-10 prospect in all the prestige list in 3 or 4 months from today. Jays don't need to rush.
tercet Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Jeff hoffman hasn't pitched above extended spring training get your boners in check plz k thx
baseballsss Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 No. Jeff is untouchable right now. no one in baseball is untouchable.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Heck no Actually? lol holy f*** The homer is strong with this one
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 no one in baseball is untouchable. Are you sure? It's not a good idea to trade an asset that does not reached his true potential yet
Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 So you wouldn't do Kris Bryant for Hoffman straight up? I would make that trade right now! A possible franchise pitcher for a possible franchise positional player is a no brainer!
tercet Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Actually? lol holy f*** The homer is strong with this one Have you see lettheball fly in regards to Sanchez? I'm 99% sure he is a troll, bc I'm not sure that someone can be so delusional/such a homer
Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Are you sure? It's not a good idea to trade an asset that does not reached his true potential yet True but Kris Bryant hasn't reached his true potential yet either!
TRM Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Bryant for Hoffman. Who says no first?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Actually? lol holy f*** The homer is strong with this one Hoffman should have been a top 3 pick last year if not the top pick.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Bryant for Hoffman. Who says no first? Is that even a legit question.....

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Hoffman should have been a top 3 pick last year if not the top pick. How many times have you seen him pitch?
TRM Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Is that even a legit question..... I was being sarcastic.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 So you would rather have a top 3 pick from the 2014 draft over #1 prospect in the game? When the should have been #1 overall pick plays a position we suck at and have for years, while the other is a power hitting prospect who has been known to strike out a crap ton and has no position to play on our team...yes!
strochez Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Wood yew guise trade Hoffman for Urias? At this point I like Hoffman more because after hearing about his rehab going well I think he has less risk than a 18 year old from Mexico that hasn't pitched in college. Right now Hoffman's floor is where Gerrit Cole is right now. Urias has a higher risk level because he doesn't have the command Hoffman does. I'd rather stick with the polished Hoffman over Urias.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Yes. Urias is a phenom. Left handed Felix
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Left handed Felix But he's Mexican. He will have 350 pounds before 25 years old.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Since when do scouting reports and opinions from industry experts not mean anything. Plenty of people in the business had said it. I don't have to go to Antarctica to know it's cold...and I don't need to actually see Hoffman pitch myself...enough people that know what they're talking about and doing have seen him and this is their opinion. I've never seen Conor McDavid play...but guess what? He's going 1st. But zero scouts and industry experts have said that Hoffman's value is at the level of Bryant or Urias. That's the point. If you are not producing any new information then an opinion that dissents so much from consensus isn't legitimate.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Looking good in extended spring is nice and all but it doesn't really even vault Hoffman past guys like Mark Appel or Jon Gray.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
