HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Goins as a backup infielder going forward isn't so bad. Well at least after this season
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Hernandez hits a hard ground ball on a hit and run to 2B. Goins makes a fantastic play to stop and short hop the ball behind him and throw the runner out at first. Runners advance, one out.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Was that the Zelda treasure jingle that played when Phillies got that run?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Ground out to Goins at 2B, runner scores from third. Two out. 6-3 Jays.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Garcia grounds out to 2B. Inning over. 6-3 Jays after 8. Travis to start 75-80% of the games at 2B, with Goins being the back up middle infielder to start the year people.
flafson Verified Member Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Could someone please explain to me, why does someone in the dugout always throws a ball to the first basement after the 3rd out? It's like he has a ball in his hand and they give him another one and he sometimes throws one of them to the crowd.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Kawasaki grounds out to 3B.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Thole grounds out to 2B. Two out. What a swing..

S33n Verified Member Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I really wanted Delabar to step back up to the plate this year, he could be a huge boost to the 'pen.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Phelps K's swinging on a nasty split. One out.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Not that I think Delabar should be in the closer's role, but the Phillie announcer's reasoning that "he only has one career save" is exceedingly stupid.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Mastro K's looking on a fastball painted on the outer edge. Two out.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Bogusetic K's looking on a 0-2 fastball on the outer half. Delebar three up three down with 2K. GAME OVER.. 6-3 Jays.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Lol GDT says Delabar threw 3 pitches perfectly down the middle to K Bogu looking The ST Gameday interns aren't paid to be precise. Every K or BB looks like that.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 So Cecil, Loup, Delabar, Redmond, Estrada, and Hynes are the locks or near locks, right? That leaves one spot open for Castro, unless there's another pitcher in low-A with no pro experience that AA likes better.

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 why is hynes a lock? has he been that good this spring? He has been pretty good, but I dont know how he can be a lock either.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 why is hynes a lock? has he been that good this spring? Based on some Tweets. Seems like he's a likely candidate to make it. But he's more of the "near lock" I mentioned, while the others are more certain. If they want to carry a 3rd lefty, for whatever reason, it's either Hynes or Francis, and we need Francis as SP depth. I'm going to guess Hynes makes it.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I love Castro but still would like to see him in the minors! See the bullpen of Redman, Estrada, Loup, Delbar, Cecil, Hynes, Schutz and Barnes gives 4Rh n 4 LH arms! But what excites me is Spring Training 2016! Lol Dickey gone and Hutch, Stroman,Norris,Shanchez,Castro,Osuna and Hoffman fighting it out for Five spots! Fap fap fap ooh!

Still a chance they send Norris to Buffalo for a month and give Estrada the 2 or 3 starts they need out of the #5 slot in April. Drabek is out of options so they can either say bye or give him a spot. Same with Hendriks and Barnes. I'm hoping Bo Schultz cracks the pen somehow (I was also hoping that Lopez would look good and grab a spot). Jenkins should have no chance of cracking it given his role (redundant) + his options remaining.

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I know, that's why I said I was hoping. If I were still hoping then I would have said I am hoping. Thus concludes today's lesson.
