G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I'm gonna watch with my son for once
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Have not seen Norris pitch once this spring. Want to see.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Looking forward to watching Norris pitch, love watching the young guys! That's one of the things that makes the Stroman injury so painful, but at least there's still Hutchison and possibly Norris and Sanchez to watch develop. Then you have the possibility of guys like Castro and Osuna moving quickly through the system if they pitch well and being possible Sept call-ups. Hopefully guys like Cole and Boyd force their way up as well and replace Graveman and Nolin.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Someone who is good with the steam links should post a stream link to this... Unless Charlie's airing it, I'll check there closer to game-time... Two downsides to not having actual TV, Jays games and I have to wait like... 12 or so hours to watch The Daily Show...

Charlie doesn't stream baseball anymore, apparently he got a letter from the MLB.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 So now that Stroman is out and Norris and Shanchez are most likey in. Does it make sense to change the Rotation up as well. Say .... Hutch Dickey Norris Buehrle Shanchez Dickey and buehrle give the pen rest ... The dickey effect can be most benefited from the two spot and Norris should get a lil bump too! Shanchez can be managed innings wise from the fifth easier too! I could live with that Rotation ! Plus you'd have Redmond and Estrda to piggy back Norris and Shanchez too!
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 MAybe but you also have two lefties straight there. Not sure if the Dickey effect > two lefties in a row
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 So happy we get to see Norris today. This is a big start for him. If he throws strikes he makes the team. Its his job to lose. Yeah they pretty much need him to make the team. I'm not willing to count on both Estrada and Sanchez to win and then hang on to starting jobs.

I'm not willing to count on both Estrada and Sanchez to win and then hang on to starting jobs. It would be good to have either Sanchez or Norris as the 6th SP in AAA. I'll let the team decide which way they decide to go, but we'll also have to see if there's any glimmer of hope for Santana.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 You also have to righties at the top. Not sure I said the Dickey effect would trickle to both lefties! If it did win win! Not sure buehrle would need it, but Norris could benefit! Only way to get a true R,L rotation would be Norris, Dickey,Hutch,Buehrle and Shanchez or flipping Norris and Shanchez but I would rather leave Shanchez in the fifth! Dickey in the two spot also effects more series directly ! I think also, until proven wrong by a stats geek, I am looking at you JFaS ! Lol
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Sanchez and Estrada in the rotation with Norris in AAA would be fine with me. They don't seem to want to demote Sanchez, but they were open to demoting Norris before Stroman went down. Save one of their arby clocks, at least.

Lol Its Dickey, Buehlre and hutch upfront because those three will throw 180-200 innings assuming they stay healthy (fingers crossed). Norris is a back end starter because 1) unproven and 2) needs to be skipped a start here or there to limit inning .
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris should start in AAA to gain an extra year of control. The 5th starter isn't needed very often in April anyway...Estrada can give us one spot start if needed, then up comes Norris. This also helps limit Norris's innings...which is necessary.

Absolutely right. The irony here is that Norris is more polished than Sanchez, but Sanchez is more likely to start the year in the majors.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Buck acknowledges Norris' number 32, fails to mention that Roy Halladay wore it with the Jays...
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 First batter Ellsburry, Norris struggles a bit to locate the curveball, ends up getting him to check swing a groundball to third on the fastball, easy play for the first out.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Brett Gardner grounds out weakly.
baubau Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Is it just me, or have the umps been terrible so far?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Broken bat grounder to 2nd. 1-2-3 groundball outs for Dreamboat Danny.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 lol, Norris froze Beltran and the ump. Call it two uncomfortable groundouts + a looking K.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 In a fastball heavy AB, Norris gets ahead of Beltran early. Somehow doesn't get the called third strike on a beautiful outside fastball that was framed perfectly. After battling, Norris jams Beltran inside who breaks his bat on a weak groundball up the middle, inning over.
