Barton can pick it. I could live with him getting most of the time at first platooning with Valencia. With the throwing issues from the left side of our infield he would save us some runs.

The slider has no depth whatsoever. Obviously a work in progress, but to me it looks closer to a 4-seam fastball than even a cutter.

If Smoak and Barton simply don't cut it would this not work better? I know it's not ideal obv, but if they simply are liabilities maybe a patchwork move if Navarro stays with the team.

If Navarro is hanging around that scenario plays well to get him enough action in conjunction with his backup catching starts. It's dependant on Martin catching Dickey of course and Edwin's back issues but I think that's a decent suggestion.

Heard Wilmer say on the radio that Sanchez 's line is misleading but he pitched very well.

Osuna's change is solid. Got silly looking whiffs from both Lough and Snider. Didn't notice any breaking balls. Seems to spot the fastball well too, pitches inside and on the hands consistently. FB might be a bit straight, but at least it has that downhill plane so it's not "flat".

 

I like his tempo too.

 

Definitely looks like a potential #3 to me. I would put his upside into the same bucket as Hutch's.

As an amateur scout, I think Bo Schultz will be quite good as a pen arm.

I'm starting to feel a Barton/Valencia platoon. Would be nice to have a really good fielding 1B even if it's not everyday. It's been awhile since the Jays had someone like that.

Henderson has command/control, Sanchez does not have command/control currently. He had 4 full counts today, he could have easily walked 3-4.

Sanchez is very close to having a dominant skillset. He'd be better in Buffalo but not gonna happen
