flafson Verified Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I really don't like Chamberlain.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 AA is signing talent with food stamps at this point so of course he's not signing them. Honestly, if they view Sanchez as a reliever, then they don't need to sign anyone. One of their waiver claims will pan out (Matt West!!!!).
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I don't see any reason not to sign one more BP arm, any of those guys have a decent shot at having a very productive year. It really must be money at this point which sort of pisses me off.

No...Are a lot of other teams spending more? Nope...But still let it be know that I am pissed. Screw budgets.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 Bullpen Closer - Cecil Setup - Sanchez 7th - Loup Long - Redmond Fight for 3 spots Delabar Drabek Jenkins Infante Rasmussen Lopez Schultz Tepera Hynes Burns Copeland
baloojayz Verified Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 What do you think Ricky Ro is up to right now?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Lopez, Delabar, and Rasmussen would be my guesses. That's only if Cecil is closer. If Sanchez is closer, then replace Rasmussen with a righty. If the Jays are sincere about Sanchez being a starter long-term, then they should use him to set up Cecil since he can log more innings that way.

Governator Community Moderator Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Lol so 1 injury and Jenkins and redmond ate the setup men and loup is closing Sanchez could hold down the 9th as needed, Estrada could turn out to be useful and they also don't even need a damn closer - its such a stupid f***ing role anyway.
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I would love to see Drabek contribute from the Pen. Jenkins as well, he was f***ing great in that 19 inning game.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 There are only 3 experienced mlb relievers. Sanchez is basically a rookie what if he struggles out of the gate? Redmond will close games for the Jays this season
baloojayz Verified Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Lol so 1 injury and Jenkins and redmond ate the setup men and loup is closing lol k this season is over, Stroman, Cecil, and Bautista are all due for BIG season ending injuries.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Good Why? They likely all come on 1-year deals, and there isn't anything else to spend the money on.
Governator Community Moderator Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Why? They likely all come on 1-year deals, and there isn't anything else to spend the money on. Except when injuries happen mid season and they have no money to replace guys like last summer.
baloojayz Verified Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Really wanted atleast one of K-Rod or Soriano if not both. Don't like the way the bullpen looks going into the season at all. True, my only criticism of AA this offseason is he had a few problem areas to resolve, the bullpen being the biggest of them. Instead our bullpen has gotten worse.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Except when injuries happen mid season and they have no money to replace guys like last summer. If cash is actually that tight, Navarro should not be on the roster.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 If cash is actually that tight, Navarro should not be on the roster. Do you want to send him to another team for nothing? 5M backup catcher is gross, but trade him to nothing is worse.

That flexibility is probably worth more than whatever free agents are left at this point.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 What are the chances they go with a 6-man bullpen to keep both Thole and Navarro on the roster
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 5M backup catcher is gross, but trade him to nothing is worse. Not necessarily. It all depends on what possibilities an extra 5 million dollars opens up. Potentially, trading him for nothing could be much better than keeping him.

I'd rather have a player for the whole year than just from the deadline on, that's where the value is. If we are in contention, I'm sure Rogers would pony up the money for a deadline move if we needed someone. Plus salary is pro-rated at the deadline, so there should be less money required.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 What are the chances they go with a 6-man bullpen to keep both Thole and Navarro on the roster Considering that all the bullpen roles are in flux at the moment, I'd say pretty slim.

Lucroy out; Texas and DBacks s*** C; VMart hurt (DH-C role)
