Laika Community Moderator Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 He can't hit and he doesn't walk at all. Really a headscratcher... surely the Reds could have gotten a sexier centrepiece for Frazier, who isn't even an impending FA. I think he can probably hit a bit agreed it's a garbage deal he's kind of like Ketel Marte without any SS chops
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Detroit will be a threat considering 2nd half Verlander was vintage Verlander. dat bullpen tho.. I saw Verlanders splits, but didn't watch him pitch in the 2nd half, did he regain his fastball?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 He had the same fastball velo but I think he just learned to pitch with less stuff. I wouldn't go as far as vintage Verlander but if he pitched like he did in the second half he's a solid #2/3.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Nothing out of the ordinary with his velocity http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?playerid=8700&position=P&pitch=FA He wasn't terrible, but he had 4-5 putrid starts https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7590/gamelog/
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 In my defense, I don't really remember saying that. I'm not even sure I was looking at the right player page. The fact that you called him 'Montanez' lead me to believe that you were inebriated.

It seems he can still rear back at pop the glove, but may not ever average +95 again. Let's hope he's managed to halt the regression for a few more years.

"got as much for 2 years of Frazier as they got for 1 year of Alfredo Simon" The machine thinks Peraza = Eugenio Suarez.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 *throws up ZiPS gang sign with his hands*
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 The one on the bottom left is North the asian woman behind him is Boxy
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I wanna see the WSox take the next step, they've been dogshit for far too long. It was painful to watch them give up decent prospects for shark only for him to have a mediocre season and then walk for nothing...
Nafro Verified Member Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I read an article last year on how Scott Schebler had some sic exit velocity. A lot of people have used the doesn't walk, just hits argument on Peraza. Its easier to learn to walk than it is to hit. This deal is the precuror to Phillips trade I guess.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 The one on the bottom left is North the asian woman behind him is Boxy Lol like I'd ever join the ZiPS gang. Steamer4lyfe
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Its easier to learn to walk than it is to hit. That's not true at all. Guys can't just "decide" to walk.

Arencibia would disagree with this.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Peraza also doesn't strikeout though. He's pretty much a 2nd base version of Ben Revere.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 They're gonna have to go the trade route They need another quality SP

TRM Verified Member Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 This is just a lazy post to get a couple thanks. You know we're not in the ZiPS cult. Ban him
TRM Verified Member Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I'd condone this. Kid has potential, but has really lacked discipline lately. It'd be a good, respectful, cage rattling.
