Why do I keep reading quotes like this everywhere?

"The Dodgers made a curious choice in not spending more to land Greinke, FOX Sports’ Jon Paul Morosi opines. While Arizona surpassed all industry expectations for Greinke’s contract, the Dodgers have the financial might to never be outbid on any player they truly want, and the fact that they were willing to offer Greinke a five-year, $155MM deal indicates that there was legitimately interest on Los Angeles’ part. With Greinke gone, the Dodgers now have to spend either money or prospects to acquire another ace."

Why do the Dodgers need a second ace behind Kershaw?

Its the Dodgers, they've set expectations they're after anyone good cause their payroll has no limit. If they had Grenkie signed for another year, there'd be stories/reports of them signing a 3rd ace like Cueto or Price behind them. Easy click-bait for a large fan base.

Donaldson on the cover of MLB the show 16(not just the canadian version)

f*** I really don't want to get a PS4 just for this game but I might have to.

Yeah I still remember being very excited about buying NBA live 04 because Vince Carter was on it.

Nice. Notice how they hid the Jays logo from JD's helmet on the left cover lol.

I did that last year and it's worth it. MLB the show is great, last of us and witcher 3 are also great.

So what's with Jorge Posada being the most searched/popular player on Fangraphs for the past while? Some sort of meme where people are running scripts or something? I'm sure others here have noticed.

Cashner may be moved.

That could lead San Diego to prefer a trade involving Andrew Cashner, says CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman (via Twitter). The Padres will look to deal Cashner once the free agent market dries up. The hard throwing righty is coming off a disappointing season that included a 4.34 ERA with 8.04 K/9 and 3.22 BB/9. He’s posted better walk rates in past seasons, so a rebound in his control could help the 29-year-old recover his past form.

Would love him in this rotation! Revere for Cashner? Get er done MS/RA/TL. Get. ER. DONE!!

(.. i honestly have no idea what it'll cost)

Andrew Cashner was drafted 4 times wtf

But there's no way Revere would get you Cashner.

Revere might not even get nothing in return from most teams. He has value for out team as constructed but at his salary he doesn't have much if any value at all.

This is the Padres we're talking about. And i'm sure there are several teams who would like to have Revere. He's pretty much a guaranteed 2 WAR for around 6 million.

To be fair, the Padres got a great haul for Kimbrel and did not budge on lower offers (think NYY made one at the trade deadline which they passed on and got a better deal this offseason). I don't think position players interest them as much as prospects/young controllable assets do currently. Given the market value for pitchers right now I am sure they feel they can get better offers and will likely get it.

Yep and he's controllable. $/WAR is around 9M now, so Revere's value would be around 17-18M in 2016 if he were to net 2 WAR as usual.

AJ Prenner seems to value traditional stats more than advanced stats, based on his moves, so that I could see it happen. Maybe you trade Revere and Urena and it gets done.

They would probably ask for Pompey or Travis and not be all that interested in anything less.

I don't really see the appeal in Cashner. He's a big injury risk and his production has to be pretty suspect too as a career Petco guy. He didn't even get a good amount of whiffs until last year.

He is a solid player but very unsexy option. At his cost however, I could see why many GM'S would be deterred. On most teams he is an underwhelming starter, but on this roster he is a solid complimentary piece to a juggernaut offence.

Sounds like the Jays would rather Saunders start in LF if he's healthy enough. 6.5 Million is a lot for a 4th OF.

Saunders has more upside than Revere. I would love it if Saunders could play a decent LF everyday but I don't think that is the case.

O'Day back to the O's. 4/31.

He is good but that's a lot for a reliever ...sign of the market I guess. I remember choking on their Jiminez signing a couple years ago. Now it seems like peanuts when I saw the Shark deal.
