Sounds like you and I have been in a lot worse than that little tizzy. Puig is a monster. If he really wanted to do some damage pity help the fool.

lol... yup, just a dust up. Good on them for not wasting money and time on a few punches, mind you, I wouldn't want to be on the other end of them punches...:P

Shark suxxxxxx, and he'll likely get too much.

Interesting to see if he bounces back. Velocity is still there.

Five year $80-$85M?

Would you take Happ at three years $36 ($12per) or Shark five years $80M ($16per).

Shark in a heartbeat at that price. I think backloaded we can still make that deal.

Does he suck? He had one bad year with the worst defense in the MLB playing behind him. Projections look similar to Zimmerman whatever that's worth.

Happ. Far less commitment for a similar class pitcher, especially if we buy into the massive decline Shark took last season (in K/9, FIP, xFIP, etc). I'll take 3 years of 2012-2014 Happ with the chance that he did figure something out in Pittsburgh, over inconsistent Shark for 5 years.

Zimmerman signed for 5-years, $110M. That's actually a reasonable contract. Will Price really get twice as much as this? Price is loved, effective, and we don't lose a draft pick. I hope he is still in play for the Jays.

Wonder how Zimmermann will fare in the AL.

It would be far from shocking if a guy like Happ outperformed him. Those types of pitchers haven't fared well historically when it comes to league switches.

Yep nice deal for the Tigers, 5 years and a reasonable amount for a top of the rotation starter.

I don't think it will even be close. Zimmerman will do just fine in Detroit. Happ is a #4 pitcher and he could easily go back to his career avg numbers. Zimmerman has been dominant the last 5 years, not just in 60 innings that Blue Jays fans are focusing Happ's numbers on.

I think it's terrible for them. That money might have been better spent on an Alex Gordon and maybe a Span.

I'm talking about Zimmermann, meat. Yeah, Shark will take a year out west.

Yeah, we were discussing Shark.

Key word. I'll take the over on Zimmerman.

I think 2.8 is pretty reasonable considering he's typically in the 3-3.5 range and is entering his age-30 season. Error bars are bigger on Happ, but I'm happier with a 3/36 commitment to him than a 5/110 to Zimmermann. There's also the lost first round pick.
