Red Sox for Mookie Betts :)

Ken Rosenthal ‏

As expected, #RedSox aggressive on multiple fronts. Chapman believed to be one. Team also could go for setup type to put in front of Uehara.

I'm really kinda hoping we're in on him. I'd gladly move Sanchez+. Chapman is just so arousing to watch.

They'd probably want Pompey.

1) someone for Votto to talk to

2) they need OF help because Jesse Winker isn't particularly good

Sadly, I would give up Pompey for a year of Chapman.

Would love Chapman. He could be like a 3-4 win addition.

If you trade for him now you get a comp pick too, although that just means he'll cost more. They'd probably want two good prospects.

If he's worth 3 wins at 8M/win on a 13M contract that's still like 11M in surplus value, plus the comp pick. I'd do it.

Leverage dem wins

His value is substantial

Additionally it would ensure that Osuna gets moved to the rotation, which I think we can all agree is for the best.

No. Pompey is going to be really good for us. He will certainly provide more value than that, plus a comp pick.

Pompey is good but that's what makes the trade work for both teams. Position on the win curve makes turning Pompey into Chapman worth it for the Jays and long term control and value is what makes Pompey work the Reds. As trade suggestions go, this one is pretty sensible.

I don't think he'll certainly provide anything.

Mariners get Benoit from Padres.

Enyol de los Santos and Nelson Ward.

Looks like a nice little deal for San Diego.

While he’s far from the big leagues, 19-year-old Enyel De Los Santos’ present stuff offers plenty to dream on. A solidly built right-hander, he sits 90-93 with a tailing fastball, and hit 94 in the seventh inning in my most recent viewing. He has a quick, loose arm, and he keeps hitters off balance by working quickly and hiding the ball with a slight crossfire. He also induced several whiffs with his slider: the pitch features long, two-plane break, though his best ones are a little sharper with tight, sweeping action.

Still, there are concerns in the profile. De Los Santos’ upper and lower halves can get out of synch, and his command wobbled over the course of my viewing. His changeup is a clear third offering, a pitch with limited velocity separation and variable depth. His good ones have a bit of arm-side fade but he also threw a couple of 88 MPH clunkers without any movement — Chris Shaw, the Giants first-rounder this year, deposited one of them halfway to the Space Station.

The safe bet is that De Los Santos eventually settles in as a reliever where, if it all plays up, he can stifle righties with a mid-90s fastball and an above-average slider. There’s a chance for more though: if he can streamline his delivery, his command profile jumps a grade, and he has good enough raw stuff to potentially pitch in a big league rotation. There’s work to do, but De Los Santos is a name for Mariners fans to tuck away for the future. – Brendan Gawlowski

Except Pompey could give us 3 wins as a fulltime player on a $500,000 contract, which is like $23.5M surplus value + 5 more years of control. I agree he's likely who the Reds would want, but given the uncertainty of Jose beyond this year and his god awful defense & the possibility Pillar has a massive regression....I think you want to keep Pompey around.

That would be really underwhelming for the Reds. They're probably looking for more than that.

It all depends if you think the adjustments he made last year were sustainable. If they are - JBJ has massive value.

He's also like two homerless months from being considered garbage on this forum. See: the massive shift in opinion on Dan Norris between April and July. His upside is limited by the fact that he doesn't have ay power. I think that's the kind of guy you can move for a 3+ win upgrade, especially with the comp pick coming back.

Yeah I wouldn't write off Bradley so quickly. There's a possibility for him to be a pretty major assett.
