There is a difference between playing scared (a'la pompey early this season) vs resting your best for the playoffs. Winning the regular season doesn't mean s***. If you hurt your team's chances for the playoffs, you're playing stupid.

I mean no you can't play scared, I agree. But I don't think Gibby is playing scared. I think he's being pretty frugal with the health of his guys going into a tense post season. The regular season goal has been accomplished and as much as #1 seed would be desirable I think the health of the players is probably the bigger priority.

Not sure what happened as it looks like I lost posts on my whopping ~200 post count in 10 years. Never posted anything bad besides calling out duplicates. These blow ups used to be entertaining but it's a shame that we lose posters who actually have knowledge of the game. The off-season is coming up in a month and that is usually the best time to read the board with all of the player movement, etc. I don't log in to read useless drivel spewed by Trouba95, RealMasturbator, Metallijay, etc. Just my preference though.

It's the same posters everytime freaking out. How hard is it to use the ignore list instead of derailing threads every f***ing time? Being annoying or complaining is not a bannable offense. I put trouba on ignore it's why it's there. If people did that and stopped quoting him problem gone.

The problem isn't gone because the next obnoxious poster will come along, people will speak out, and then the people speaking out will get punished. Not everyone recognizes every poster here to ignore them, and new or potential posters will be put off on joining or contributing because of the excessive amount of trash posts they have to sift through.

Absolutely. It's just common sense. If you have nothing to add or if you feel you're out of touch with what others are talking about, how about, ya just don't post? Look back at the off-season thread from 2014 (if it's not deleted). That was one of the most informative threads we'll ever see and that's what this place should want to be. But I guess the powers that be don't want that. We want MJ and the like.

Why are you obsessed with other teams attendance?

 

It's more that it questions whether the Rays will be able to survive long term. Attendances like that in Montreal got them moved to Washington. And the Rays are in the exact same situation as the Expos.. no money, stadium needing replacement, weak TV deal(though renewal is coming.. but the looming cable bubble burst is going to hurt the Rays leverage.
