Astros really fell off in the second half. they had a better record than they were playing in the first half and worse than they are playing in the second half.

Yeah, they've fallen off. I think they're a legitimately talented group though, and a ton of fun to watch. If ownership lets them get back to the 120-130M range that core could do a ton of damage long-term.

agree, they have young studs that can carry them with a little cash to back it up. they are better than the jays were 3 years ago.... jays have become elite with some cash and trades that worked out. quite the recovery after the Miami deal.

I wonder if the AA comments about character where directly about Reyes? lol AA said he was trying to make the Tulo deal in the off season.

The Blue Jays players should tell Alex Rodriguez that the division is "MINE" just like he told the infielders when he was running the bases on that pop up!

Is it time that baseball do something about tanking or is it enough of a non-factor because of the uncertainty of the draft anyway. Houston last year was blatant. Reds have an outside shot at the 1st overall pick, and they were 5 games behind the Jays on Tulo trade day. Pitching rookie starters 60 straight games

What could they do though, really? Cueto & Leake were going to walk, they had to trade them or get left with their dick in their hands. And Latos just turned into a pumpkin overnight. I don't really blame them for seeing what they have in these guys, at least one of them looks like a piece for the future. They really should have traded Chapman, though.

There are guys they could have brought in which would be better than Smith or Sampson. Those are waiver pick ups that had options still or could have just been left in the minors. It's not like they have a huge roster crunch. I kind of like the concept of the most wins after elimination gets the first pick. The teams eliminated first have an advantage but it forces you to continue to attempt to put out a competitive roster. I will put together numbers of what this would look like in baseball this year. Probably screws the AL teams who stayed in the race longer than the NL.

Most of the best records this year come from the NL as well as most of the worst. Only the As are close to 100 losses in the AL but many teams are in the NL. I'm sure it might be a bit of both, but do you guys lean towards the top teams in the NL just being that great, or the bad teams in the NL just being a lot worse than the bad AL teams.

Well, they'll be lucky to draw 40K this weekend in St. Pete, even with the AL East champs in there facing Tampa:

Royals out for blood tonight. Gibbons opened the door for them and it looks like they are ready to walk through it.

Or maybe they're a good team facing an awful team?

Luckily Minnesota still has something to play for so they'll be fielding their very best team against the Royals in their home park

But I don't want the Twins playing the Yanks in the WC game. I want the Astros to give the Yanks their best.

Chris Carter will be clutch in the wild card game against New York. He'll be 1-4 with 3 strikeouts and a game winning home run

You must be afraid that Osuna is gonna turn into Byung-hyun Kim at Yankee Stadium

Trouba you are hands down one of the best trolls I've ever seen on any message board.

If the Blue Jays were as good a baseball team as you are a troll, they'd be a lock for the World Series. And the Blue Jays are a really good baseball team.

A five page eruption of posters fighting about Trouba. Modhammer comes out, 3 good posters get banned. Trouba chilling in the Around Baseball thread cheering about the Twins being down 2-1.

Remarkable.

Because you're not allowed to complain. We are living in a Nazi regime! Moland Springs FTW!

Welcome to the dark side. It's pretty crowded in here but we can always make room for a fellow dissident.
