I'm sure they will.discover ten.more pitchers

Where? Their farm system is a bit thin.. and they can't keep purchasing contracts from Durham frequently. Most of the AAA staff is mostly AAAA veterans who have no business being on an MLB roster.

We have been saying that for years

The Rays in previous years didn't have to call up umpteen million guys from Durham because of injuries. And it's looking like another callup is coming, as Erasmo Ramirez is DL bound.

We have zero chance at this division

There's still the wild card. We're still going to be 1 and 2 back of each wild card after tonight. And we play the Rays next, in case you forgot. We can make up ground on them. And BTW, Cleveland is a bad team. 12th ranked pitching staff, no decent 5th starter, and inconsistency from many of their young arms. Oh, and they can't score..

I wouldn't say zero.... considering our run differential... but I'm hesitant to take a guess.

They just keep boring the opposition into submission.

The Rays are going to get tough teams soon.. this favorable stretch will end soon. And their July sked is BRUTAL... us, the Yankees, Royals, O's, Astros, Tigers. And one series with the Phillies. And likely still drawing <10K at the Trop..

And the Rays haven't faced quality opponents lately.. Washington, Chicago White Sox, Seattle, and L.A. aren't exactly strong teams. Wait until they play the Yanks, Red Sox, Jays and O's again..

Yankees/Jays in the Bronx for the Wild Card game. That's our only chance unless Alex pulls off a huge deal.

The Rays are not better than the Yankees.

Dang.. Rays win another one. 3 back now for the division(but 1 and 2 on the wild card, which, considering the AL right now, is more attainable).. we gotta beat Baltimore tomorrow.

The Rays are not actually better than the Yankees. It's close but no.

And of course, the Rays have to play the Yankees and Red Sox eventually.. watch them come crashing down to earth in coming weeks.

If they don't suffer any further injuries, they will be. Pitching, bullpen, and great front office, and I say that as a Tampa hater.

It's fun to think of the Rays that way but you're being naive.

Projected WAR:

Yankees = 24.1

Rays = 19.9

Yankees are stacked, sure they're old, but these old guys tend to pick up steam deeper into the season...

By the way the Yankees pitching is WAY better than the Rays pitching, both SP and RP. Maybe it just doesn't seem that way because the Yankees pitch in a hitters park.

Unfortunately we draw Archer in the TB series, so I guess let's try to win 2 of 3.

Beat the O's tomorrow and win 3 of next 4.

Just saw the highlight of the Scherzer-Tabata thing. Not sure if it was intentional, but I would plunk him tomorrow either way. Actually even if he had a nice solid line drive up the middle rather than the HBP: plunk.

I'm a Rays believer. I hate them, but they can't be stopped.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Dave Stewart is an even bigger f***ing moron than I thought.

And why the f*** does my reply appear in the quote box?

Dave Stewart is really really really stupid.

Kevin Towers is Andrew Friedman compared to Stewart. It's unbelievable. Baseball nepotism at it's finest.
