If we're talking about a guy's career with a specific franchise, Doc posted 49 wins with the Jays in just 2046 innings. If you compare that to historical Yankees' SP, you can argue that Doc's Jays career is better than any Yankees starting pitcher outside of Andy Pettitte. Whitey Ford posted 6 more WAR than Doc did, but it took him 1100 more innings to do it.

 

Sabathia has given the Yankees 24.7 WAR in 1162 innings. While he's been really good in the time he's been with them, I don't think Sabathia's pinstripe career comes anywhere near what Doc did for the Jays.
