People keep telling me QS is dumb, but fail to elaborate on why.

For the draft, I'm thinking we go ten rounds of auction, and then just do a regular draft with 6 hour intervals.

The second half of an auction takes much less time because everyone's spent their money and so it proceeds similarly to a snake draft. I don't think slicing an auction draft in half would be very effective. You're always going to have the time-consuming first half.

Are you set on Yahoo AG? Personally i would prefer Fantrax.

Yeah, we did an auction on Yahoo last year, and it ran pretty smoothly. I don't know about FanTrax. Not that familiar with it, so I'd rather just stick with Yahoo as I like the interface a lot better.

I'm open to it though if you have some reasons. As far as I can tell, the advantages of FanTrax are:

 

1) Has more obscure minor league players that won't affect a redraft league.

2) Has more funky statistics which apparently none of you want anyway.

3) Has payment collection and tracking (I do like this, but it means we would all have to pay an extra $3.)

 

I'll ask JFaS which is better from an administration point of view.

The majority of my friends and I all completed our undergrads while working 25+ hours a week and a full school schedule. You make time for the things you enjoy in life. He probably just doesn't care

Ok, we lost one which gives a spot to Canuck of Chicago.

So, with 20 players, I'm going to go ahead and set up the league and send out messages to the 20 interested players.

 

I'll give it three days for people to join the league, before we try to recruit other members to fill empty spots.

Payments won't be made until we have twenty people all confirmed into Yahoo.

Don't worry BBBB, 99.9% sure you'll get in.

 

Once we have 20 signed up, we can tweak the rules etc, a little, and then see if we can find a date that works for everybody.
