If the Expos were still around, they could have had Martinez and Johnson at the same time.

Trivia (no googling).

1) What player did the Expos trade to get Pedro Martinez?

2) What player did the Expos obtain when they traded away Randy Johnson?

In football you can beat your wife, abuse your kids, take PED's, etc, and still be celebrated. In baseball, if you take PED's, you're the scum of the earth.

I don't know about that... Seems to me like the wife beaters and kid abusers are facing massive backlashes. You can definitely get caught with PEDS withoug much controvery though. Baseball, on the other hand, seems to have it basically backwards. PED are a huge deal and pretty much anything else, other than gambling, is mostly ignored.

Either you cheated or you're really, really old. Like over 30.

old and traveled to Montreal for at least 3 series a year.

s***, I forgot about Armas Jr. I could have sworn it was Pavano straight up. Reportedly, the Blue Jays turned down a Halladay for Pedro swap. Now that might have drastically altered the course of history.

The HOF isn't a good guy award.

The good news is that there is only one legit name on the ballot next year (Griffey Jr., who is followed by a bunch of all star not MVP types and some relievers). This should get the momentum on Raines, Bagwell, Piazza & Schilling going. Hopefully 3 get in to clear up some of the backlog. Then we can hope for about 20% of the old f***s like Noble die off and eventually the process clears up.

Seriously - can they not find out who voted for Percival, Boone, Gordon and Erstad and simply revoke their right to vote? You can't have people making a mockery out of the process.

I think that's their point, sad man.

Probably the same people who didn't vote Pedro and Randy lol

It's more of a travesty that Pete Rose is not in. He didn't cheat when he played. He deserves to be in based on performance. That MLB would deny him HOF consideration is petty and vindictive. There are more reasonable ways to apply a disincentive to players/coaches betting on the games.

Interesting talk about this on PTS with Davidi and Eliott. Davidi thinks that one of the big reasons is that Rose wants to be a HOF because he will use to for financial gain for memorabilia and stuff.

I don't think he should be in personally. For you to manipulate games is the worst thing you can do as a guy in baseball.

How, exactly?

Wouldn't make a difference IMO

He didn't manipulate games? He bet on his club, very different. He deserves to be in, but I get a chuckle when guys, mostly older than me think he's in conversation of GOAT! That's a f***ing joke, he played hard with longevity, but should never be in that discussion .

Bonds, clemens, johnson, biggio, piazza, smoltz, Bagwell, raines, walker, Pedro, mussina, schilling, martinez, trammell.

10 votes max is stupid, outdated and blatantly retarded. I refuse to abide by their idiotic rules

I'd also beat the s*** out of the comissioner, reinstate Rose, then make the veterans committed induct him and McGwire.

Then if any old idiot HOF members boycott the induction ceremony, i'd tell them to shut the f*** up an deal with it. They cheated too.

It's a great venue for a baseball fan besides the HOF itself and the park. Beautiful little town with vendors and former HOFamers signing on the main street(Had a picture taken with Alomar on the street). They also have a parade with all the elected members who are present sitting in a car with their name on it....probably about 20 the year I was there...only Barry Larkin and Ron Santo along with Bob Elliot were elected on a down year.

Anybody ever been to an Induction ceremony?

I'm heading down this year and was wondering what it was like and if there's any other special/cool things they do during the weekend.

It's ridiculous that Bonds, the greatest hitter of our generation and maybe of all time might not get in. These writers need to get their heads out of their ass.
