Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Wii's are the video game consoles for people who don't like video games. And old people. Though I am not a fan of COD either. My system came with Destiny which seems to be a Halo/World of Warcraft hybrid. Consoles are for people who aren't awesome enough to game on PCs! http://i.imgur.com/QQo8Lr2.png

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Mario Baseball for Wii was pretty awesome. When my son was younger we played that non stop. After that it went in the closet though and was never seen again.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Wii fit, Mario kart? Yeah Mario Kart is good times. Playing the arcade version at like Dave & Busters is even better.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Consoles are for people who aren't awesome enough to game on PCs! Nah... it's just more cost-effective. PC games usually sell for 20 dollars less and you can find sales on steam frequently.

I have 255 games in my Steam library... I paid full price for 0 of them. Sales, freebies, bundles... aww yeah... Plus, my laptop has better hardware than the newest gen consoles, and it's 4 years old now. And if you must play with a controller, the 360 controllers are 100% compatible with PCs... (and my laptop has an HDMI out if I want to play on my big TV...) Also, My version of Skyrim has 120+ mods... Can't do that on console...
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Consoles are for people who aren't awesome enough to game on PCs! I like being able to sit on my couch, play on a big TV and use a comfortable controller.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I dare one of you to try playing a sports game on PC

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I dare one of you to try playing a sports game on PC Oh... People still play sports games? Interesting... OOTP Baseball? I'm sure they could port sports games to PC quite easily (actually, you can use emulators to do that...) if there was any demand for those. It's super easy to hook a PC up to a TV and use a controller, so there's no reason other than lack of demand that it's not doable.

It just works better on console.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Destiny looks (graphics) great and feels (gameplay) great. But the story and replayability is lacking. So much more could be done with the "WOW" aspect. Yeah I was literally just reading on this. Destiny won Game of the Year, but a lot of people said it was over-rated and didn't live up to the hype. One 2014 release I've really liked is Far Cry 4. Got it for free with my GPU and it's been amazing so far. Really feeling these sales on Far Cry 3 and BioShock... f*** it, I'm doing it. http://i.gyazo.com/6e69512d498e0803f4e440b63a801b7a.png

So much more could be done with the "WOW" aspect. I actually laughed at how bad the story is. This magical ball shows up and somehow makes Venus, Mars, Mercury and the moon into habitibal entities. It helps humans for no known reason, and has an ambiguous ancient enemy that hunts it all over the galaxy for some reason. Then it somehow sacrificed itself to save humans, who now live all in a single city under this ball. Nothing is explained, ever. Feels so pointless. It gets like 5 billion bonus points for Lance Reddick, though. Too bad they didn't throw a "This...is ********!" somewhere in there. Ability to craft would be nice. When you finish the story, all that's left to do are the same few strikes over and over or one raid that no one does anymore. I can't really justify buy the expansions.
