jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 And meanwhile, Gose is basically a platoon bat, playing mostly against RHP.. despite hitting .371, they're pretty empty ABs, with no plate discipline, as he strikes out almost 1/3rd of the time. Meanwhile, Travis is a ROY candidate, and has finally fixed our 2B problem.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Lol Law Wow, that's embarrassing.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Devon Travis >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Anthony Gose Okay, so you're not dumb, you just hate Sanchez. Gotcha.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Lol Law Can someone reply to that tweet now and remind him of it?

Caper Verified Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I can't think of a sport that could make a prospect prognosticator look more stupid more often. Keith Law is bound to get many wrong.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I can't think of a sport that could make a prospect prognosticator look more stupid more often. Keith Law is bound to get many wrong. Yes but he wasn't merely wrong. He was a snarky twit. He should know better than to be so smug but there's no helping him. He's Wilner with a better education.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I can't think of a sport that could make a prospect prognosticator look more stupid more often. Keith Law is bound to get many wrong. Law pompously defended his stance repetitively throughout the winter. He never admits when he's wrong, and he deserves to eat s*** for it. f*** Law.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I don't think anyone would be bringing it up if Law had said something like "I have my doubts that Travis will become a major league regular".
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I don't think anyone would be bringing it up if Law had said something like "I have my doubts that Travis will become a major league regular". Yes exactly, you can give an honest opinion and not be a twerp. Law fails at this repeatedly.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I may catch s*** for this but he reminds me a lot of pedroia Pedroia has such an over exaggerated upper cut swing. Travis has one of the most level swing you could use and his swing is super compact. He shouldn't have slumps because of that and the fact that he literally uses the whole field. his spray chart is ridiculous.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I don't think anyone would be bringing it up if Law had said something like "I have my doubts that Travis will become a major league regular". This ^ Law's follow up tweet to the one JFaS just quoted was this: Isaac @IB_BlueJays 1m1 minute ago Toronto, Ontario @keithlaw But apparently he's not a NP 10:30 PM - 12 Nov 2014 · Details keithlaw @keithlaw 20s20 seconds ago @IB_BlueJays oh, he is. Getting traded doesn't change that. And he took that same hard-line everytime someone asked him about Travis in his chats or on twitter. It's one thing to express doubts, it's another to completely dismiss a guy and play it off like he has absolutely no chance of succeeding. Especially for a guy like Law, who isn't even scouting anymore, and is only going off of what other people tell him.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Yes exactly, you can give an honest opinion and not be a twerp. Law fails at this repeatedly. he's got a large portion of drama queen in him and that why it's hard for him to go back and say he was wrong. it would ruin his drama queen image.

Yup. His problem has always been that he takes a rigid black/white approach to scouting when he should know full well that anything can and WILL happen in baseball. Law deserves all the flack he receives for this reason alone, because he brings it upon himself. The snarky replies he gives just makes it even worse. Remember when Yan Gomes was a "non-prospect"? 8 WAR the past two seasons.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I may catch s*** for this but he reminds me a lot of pedroia I don't understand, Devon's not white.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I don't understand, Devon's not white. Travis and Pompey are like the whitest black guys i've ever seen. The Pedroia comparison obviously comes from the fact that both guys are short and play 2B.

Remember when Yan Gomes was a "non-prospect"? 8 WAR the past two seasons. Ugh. Giving away Gomes for nothing is probably the organization's worst mistake in the last decade. I can't believe none of the coaches realized that Gomes was at least an above-average defensive catcher.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Is this kid real? Attagirl...Zee/Dogg.
Nightmaul Verified Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Good trade for both teams and will leave it at that. Both players won't be hitting .380 for much longer lol. The thing that has impressed me most about Travis is his defense. I had no idea he could pick it like that. Turns the fastest double play we have seen in years. Travis could very well be hitting .300 by the end of the year though (with XBH ability) and Gose will be batting somewhere around .220 as per usual.

Kevin Cash and Fasano both apparently spoke about it and said don't trade him because he is a good defensive catcher.
