Blue Jays Message Board Free Agent Prediction Contest 2015

The message board's comprehensive FAP Contest is back for its second offseason! This is a prediction game that will provide buckets of fun all winter, as the standings are updated live with each signing.

 

This year's version includes Blue Jays-related offseason questions, contract predictions for ten select free agents, and destination predictions for 49 Major League free agents, including several players formerly of the Blue Jays.

 

Last offseason's winner was jays4life19!

 

Prize

Jays4life19 has generously agreed to give a $50 Jays gift card to the victor! I will pay out an additional $10 to the winner.

 

Scoring

Blue Jays Total Free Agent Outlay (1 question)

- Twelve (12) points for guessing within $5MM of the actual total

- Five (5) points for guessing within $15MM of the actual total

- Three (3) points for guessing within $30MM of the actual total

- One (1) points for guessing within $50MM of the actual total

 

Blue Jays Yes!/No! Questions (4 questions)

- Four (4) points for a correct guess

 

Free Agent Years Predictions (10 questions)

- Six (6) points for a correct guess

- Three (3) points for correctly guessing within one (1) year

 

Free Agent AAV Predictions (10 questions)

- Six (6) points for correctly guessing within $1MM

- Three (3) points for correctly guessing within $2MM

 

Free Agent Destination Predictions (49 questions)

- Five (5) points for correctly guessing the Blue Jays as a destination

- Four (4) points for correctly guessing a non-Blue Jays new destination (i.e., Santos to the Rays)

- Three (3) points for correctly guessing a non-Blue Jays returning destination (i.e., Ramirez to the Dodgers)

whoops! my Blue Jays offseason free agent spending should read 120. Apparently i f***ed that up. I certainly didnt mean to say they would spend 120,000,000,000,000,000.... although that would make me really happy they would probably still waste it on some washed up losers

Yeah it can take a while to fill out, but the sheer number of free agents included keeps the offseason interesting. In December-January we'll have stuff happening in the contest pretty much every day.

 

I don't generally keep players whose names i have a hard time spelling.
