HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 This team isn't willing to spend money on a reliever. What makes you think they'll drop +$70m on an unproven player? This guy could end up like Puig...or Viciedo.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 Have you heard anything Ang or is the rumoured deal for July 2nd with Toronto still the word around town? Nothing have changed, he's a Jays until now, but Cuban Alvarez, Dominicans Ortiz and Heredia are great options.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Maybe we'll pay the other (non moncada) guys a little extra to wait until July 2nd and get them all?
Ehjays Verified Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Can't see them backing out of a verbal agreement but there seems to be a lot more players coming out of Cuba, if they ever were to back out.....now would be the time.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Money talks and the jays have a big budget according to various experts. Cubs, red sox, rangers and yankees are all under punishment come july 2nd.

Sorrow Verified Member Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 ANG. What's the word? You're the fellow down there. Has the verbal agreement been overplayed (most likely) or has Toronto or Vlad Jr backed out?

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Vlad "White Sox' Guerrero Jr. You get a really good view of his weight transfer in that video. Not withstanding the fact that we're nit-picking about a teenager, what do people think of it?

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Ortiz looks huge. Is he related to that other Dominican Ortiz? Ramon?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Ramon? Remember when he was drawing Pedro comparison and then his real birth certificat came out and everyone was like, I guess he's not up and coming just mediocre.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Methane power plants? Sounds pretty unsustainable. Lol reminds me of this gem.
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Yadier Alvarez, right-handed pitcher, age 18 Arguably the most intriguing prospect of the three, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-hander from Matanzas didn't have any professional experience in Cuba's top league, but he has made a name for himself on the international scouting scene in the past few weeks. Alvarez has a fastball that touches 98 mph with a plus slider and an above-average changeup, prompting one high-ranking National League official to say Alvarez was the best 18-year-old pitcher he had ever seen. Like Ibanez, Alvarez is subject to the international signing guidelines, but he won't be able to sign with a Major League team until the next signing period, which starts on July 2, because he did not register in time to be eligible during the current signing period. Moreover, Alvarez is in the early stages of establishing residency, the first step in becoming eligible to sign with a Major League team, so it's unclear when he will be available. The Dodgers, D-backs, Rockies, Nationals, Blue Jays, Padres, A's, Cardinals, Twins and Brewers have all been linked to the young right-hander. Granted, Alvarez is raw and could use some polish, particularly with his command, but he is positioning himself to be the most sought-after player during the next international signing period.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Makes you wonder how much better he'll be once he grows into his body.
flafson Verified Member Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Makes you wonder how much better he'll be once he grows into his body. If he will be any good, we won't be able to compete with other teams.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 Is the nephew any good? SS The Guerrero live in the southern part of my country, very far from where I live, for that reason, I saw Gregory Guerrero just one time, and I think he's not the big deal. He's like Manny Acta nephew and Jays player Emilio Guerrero.
