A friend of mine, just told me that Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Toronto reached a verbal agreement about 4.5 million dollars for next July 2.

The friend of mine (Alex Colome and Jose Dominguez cousin), came to a verbal agreement with the A's for the next July 2.

Nice Ang. Get Tatis son to sign with us too. I think they're among the top 5 guys right now.

If we're going to pull a Yankees and say F-You to the spending limits (4.5M for one guy?) for a year, Cubans Yoan Moncada and Andy Ibanez could be nice targets for our infield as they're constrained by IFA restrictions.

Very interesting. How does Vladdy Jr compare to his dad, in terms of ability?

My source: "Tampa offered 2.5 million and Vladimir said that he had spent that amount of money on food"

My source (15 years) is living in the A's complex to protect him from the other teams and avoid injuries lol

I forget where this is from but:

The internet largely didn't appreciate my comment that I was scouting Vladimir Guerrero Jr. today, but little Vlady put on a nice show in BP. Junior is maxed-out at 6'0/200 and is more of an OF/1B fit, but has some bat speed, flashed average raw power, an arm that could be average and didn't wear batting gloves. 3B Fernando Tatis Jr. was also playing today and fits in the same group as Guerrero--solid player that likely gets six figures 18 months from now, but not an elite talent.

Isn't Tampa capped at $300k deals after splurging this summer?

•Though he won’t be eligible to sign until July 2, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has already drawn significant interest from the Mets, Blue Jays and Angels, reports MLB.com’s Jesse Sanchez (on Twitter). His father, of course, is the same Vladimir Guerrero that won an MVP with the Angels in 2004 and made nine All-Star teams in a 16-year career that saw him bat .318/.379/.553 with 449 home runs.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he's worse.

"To me, God has given him double the talent that his father had," Wilton Guerrero said. "He also grew up watching the game and he's mature for his age. I really hope he can develop and do what he has to do. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the big leagues at 19 or 20. He's going to be that good."

cant wait until 2023.

Gonna fly my spaceship to the rogers centre and watch this boy play

Cuz he'll be a can't miss prospect that doesnt make the majors til he's 24?

with the speculation of the Yankees or Angels... aren't they capped at 300K for the next signing period (aka no Vlad jr)?

As I hinted in Oct http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/scouting-the-top-2015-july-2nd-prospects/ … intl sources expect 16 y/o Vlad Guerrero Jr to sign July 2 w/TOR for $3.2M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0X9Xnjb_rs

Ang had it first!

Anyone else find it interesting that Vlad Junior end up with the Jays despite Vlad senior's tenure with the Jays ending on what seemed like a pretty strained note.

Even if he used actual money to wipe away all of papa's tears he'd still be left with 3.1+ million dollars.
