He's probably going to sign a pillow contract with a San Diego/Sanfran type though.

Hopefully we're rid of McGowan for good, jesus christ, the sense of loyalty they've shown that guy at the expense of on field results for so many years was gross.

Don't worry McGowan's replacement was traded for at what might be a few extra dollars too.

 

I'd like Morrow back as a possible 8th/9th inning kind of guy but like many have suggested he'll probably take a contract with some team in a big ballpark to try and rebuild his value as a starter and hope to hit a multi year deal next year.

 

Part of me hates to see McGowan go since I was rooting for him to finally overcome everything but he's just not worth the money and is a borderline player at this point.

Nor would I. To be honest I Wouldn't be surprised if it happens relatively soon. I can't see him making more than that on the market unless a team gets really desperate but I can see him back at that price.

i don't want mcgowan back in any capacity, he sucked as a starter and was pretty bad as a reliever too.

Morrow's likely headed to a rebuilding team on a pillow deal as a starter, and McGowan is uncertain.. but I can see him returning at a reduced salary. But he can easily be replaced by any other reliever.. good chance we won't see him again.
