If its Estrada, and only Estrada, this is terrible.

 

There had better be additional pieces to this, otherwise this would be an awful, awful trade...

 

As expected, terrible trade.

 

This is f***ing awful. Lind is better than Estrada, fills a bigger position of need, and is only like $3.5 M more expensive.

I really can't believe how bad this is. A guy who was replacement-level this year, and Steamer thinks is replacement-level next year for a 1.5 win guy, all to save less than $4 million.

 

Wilner will be spinning this like it's the greatest move ever.

There's no point in fighting it anymore. Half your posts are in one way or another related to Wilner. You are obviously infatuated with the guy to the point that he's become firmly implanted inside your subconscious. Wilner will be inside you forever!

Exactly. Just because he had a couple good games, doesn't mean we didn't overpay for him.

Adam Lind hit .321/.381 last year. Estrada was 'okay'. I think it was a good time to buy low on him and we gave more than needed.

True. But Lind can't hit lefties and let's face it. He's been very easily replaced.

Not really. This team could seriously use a solid lefty bat. If they were actually playing Smoak on the regular maybe you'd have a point.

Without his bat the Jays have the best offence in the league, so I think they are getting by without him.

Let's not act like Estrada is now suddenly irreplaceable though... Having a couple of great starts doesn't make you a superstar. He's still a back of a rotation type arm who wasn't even penciled into the rotation on opening day. Of course he's been valuable to the team but technically he's only putting up half the WAR total of Lind. I'm not saying it was a terrible trade but what the f*** is the point of bumping this thread now?

Youre right there really wasn't much of a point other then messing around. I'm sure he'll get lit up and it will be bumped again.
