I am looking for official numbers that are verifiable for the years of 2011-present. Thanks if you can help.

If you find Canada's population numbers by year, that's the nightly viewership for the Jays.

Yes, they're that popular.

They were up this year, thats why Rogers poured so much money into the team payroll at the deadline.

They were up, drastically

infact there were some nights when the viewership was greater than a million. Jays ratings are one of the highest in baseball, however since Rogers owns the team, a full release could result in some one estimating the fair market value of the Jays tv content.

All you need to know is that they're (Jays' owners) keeping AA as GM. If ratings were down, he'd be gone. They're satisfied with what they're making.

I hear Rogers should be more concerned with how their main business is run since I heard/read somewhere that their shares are down close to 10% from last year.

Don't worry, Next Issue will save them!

So much money advertising a terrible product and it's not even a good ad campaign. It's oddly old-fashioned and annoying.

I don't even get who they're targeting with that product. Only old people read magazines, but old people hate technology... Doctor's offices aren't going to start handing out iPads to people in the waiting rooms, so seriously, who the f*** would buy this product, or even bother with the free trial period?

Chris Zelcovich and his blog would be your best bet to get the numbers. I know he posts the top 10 for sports each week.

Something occurred to me while looking at the final four of this year's world series. There is a very serious possibility that the world series ratings this year could set the record for the lowest ever. In fact Fox could get higher ratings with a run of the mill sitcom or some reality crap.

Last year's ratings were 8.7, and that included Boston. The year prior the ratings were below 7. The decline has been steady for the world series, and interest is at an all time low. With the 4 insignificant markets left, if San Francisco bows out, and we are left with Kansas City vs St. Louis, we are looking at only one state.

I think ratings will decline to 5 or even lower, and Fox will consider not airing the World Series Anymore

This is what has me worried. They seem to be a very popular team right now, especially with fans in their 20s. These fans do whatever is trendy, when this crop of players is gone they could go back to being a bottom 10 payroll. Wouldn't shock me one bit.

lol. Ratings for the ALCS are probably some of the highest.

What would lead you to believe that?

Two smaller market teams without big marketable stars, or any real "special interest" stories or any real dominating presence ... it's not typically a recipe for high ratings, even if the game itself is good (because people don't bother tuning in to determine whether the game will be good).

TBS rating for last night was 5.92 million up 9% over last year. Even though its 2 smaller market teams they are new teams so people will want to watch a team win that hasn't won before. Having the Cardinals go deep into the playoffs every year turns the causal fans away as they want to see a new team. KC and Baltimore will do that.

Against a west coast game

It wont hold up, trust me

I think Kansas city is captivating many neutrals and if they keep going it will be a well watched World Series. I'm on their bandwagon!
