Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Is it just me or have this year's playoffs been better than recent years? I can't remember this many exciting/close games in the playoffs in the last few years

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 It'll be interesting when the series shifts to SF on Monday.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Extras again! And with the bullpen depth of both teams, we could be here all night..
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 It's really windy, just look at Affeldt's jersey.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Both were strikes...but I just tuned in so don't know how he's been calling it tonight.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 lol that was basically the same call, you have to swing at that
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 What a great playoffs so far
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Is it just me or have this year's playoffs been better than recent years? I can't remember this many exciting/close games in the playoffs in the last few years Many extra innings games for sure. Still every October has been great - no complaints
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Another thing is they're playing in real baseball parks with real fans...
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Wtf fans? It was hit well but it looked high off the bat.
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 A lot of teams are impotent this postseason
bill Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 the best series is the KC series. All the other series look boring
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 the best series is the KC series. All the other series look boring Eh? Yesterday's Cards-Dodgers games one of the best games I've ever seen, and tonight's is turning into a great pitching duel. Also, this Giants-Nats game has been great.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Why? Because bill said so. Obviously.
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 f***in Bill Kill bill
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Posey is an awful base runner. This game should be over if he knew how to slide. That last ball you have to be 100% sure you can advance. I would say you need to be at least 75% sure
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 This game looking like it will go on for all time
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 These teams seem to have an unending supply of great pitchers
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Getting close to post season record for innings and time here
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 These teams seem to have an unending supply of great pitchers Such is the reality of baseball in 2014. This game may never end.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Calm down Vasgersian! The ball's not carrying.. all these balls are doing are hitting gloves and dragging this game out longer and longer...
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 2 more innings and we tie the record (2005 NLDS, Atlanta/Houston, 18 innings)
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I believe this is now the longest playoff game in MLB history by time.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Roark was like a #2 starter this year lol. This game isn't going to get increasingly more sloppy as regular season extra innings games do. I was only 10 when the Braves/Astros game went 18 but I remember it vividly.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Espinosa remains a decent buy low guy. He has the tools and stuff, but it's been quite a while since he's actually hit. 2013 was the "buy low" year.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
