The Blue Jays must be trying to get a better draft pick. Why would you not PH Dan Johnson for Valencia if you were actually trying to win?

ya, makes no sense whatsoever but not much has since the sept call ups

0 for 8 with runners in scoring position. A team that needs 3 home runs per game to have a chance of winning isn't going to get to the playoffs. Many teams can find a way to win without getting any home runs.

I don't think Reyes could have thrown out Gose like Jetter just did.

I'm very sure Gose wasn't hustling on that play, Jeter even double clutched, he should have been safe.

He looked like he was running full speed down the base path but maybe he stumbled out of the batters box. I thought he would make it for sure.

The Blue Jays have some good players that make the team worth watching but overall as a team they are a washout. I am starting to see a strong Maple Leafs - Blue Jays parallel.

If we're trying to get a better draft pick Jaysblue needs to keep making the GDT's.

Wow participation has dropped

Not surprised of course. Board numbers are WAY down compared to mid season. GDT's are shrinking fast.

With the Jays struggles I'm not surprised. Can we get to the offseason already?

This is a good thing. Hes taking himself out of consideration for a job.

Like AA actually watches games or knows anything about baseball... ur silly.

Anyone else hoping the team slips below 0.500? The extra losses are mostly meaningless, but the optics could help expedite the firing of certain front office undesirables.

Cleveland just blew a 4-3 lead.. game's now in the 10th 4-4.

A's are leading 3-1 on Philly.. how are they gonna blow it tonight?

Royals getting mauled 10-1.. and Seattle is about to move into a tie for the wild card with a big win vs. the Astros.

If nothing else it might set off the "We have a lot of areas to improve" siren. Which hopefully means they add an actual 2B and LF because you can't blame it on the bullpen.

AA has to do something. He can't go into next year with the same core of players and the same manager. They will struggle to sell tickets if they don't change things. I would prefer Beeston to go most of all. But I know that won't happen so they can use Gibbons as the scapegoat. Hes a s***** manager so not really a big loss. We already know AA gets one more year so thats kind ot a loss cost unless Rogers pulls the plug on Beeston and the new president brings in his own guy.

They may as well lose every game to end the season. Its all meaingless and judt grab the highest draft pick possible.

Beeston's gone regardless of what happens this season IIRC.

I always get bored of jays baseball around early September. I'll watch close race games and the playoffs now.

Is he quitting?

The guys on PTS were speculating that he would quit of he got offered the job with MLSE. As a Raptors fan I cringe at that thought. It would be a terrible decision by MLSE, as the guy is stuck in the past and MLSE seems to be going into a real digital trend.

I'm hoping for it. At the very least, a below .500 record spells the end for Gibbons. Alex's fate is probably tied with Beeston's regardless of record, but if Alex stays and the team finishes below .500, then I can't see Gibbons coming back.
