BTS Community Moderator Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Lol at people who prefer lind at 1st lol lol lol lol Lind is better than Edwin at first. But they both really, really suck.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Might as well shut Sanchez down for the rest of the season. Pitching so many innings out of the pen cannot be good longterm.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 lol funny everyone was looking ahead to the seattle series after the cubs sweep but not surprisingly they **** the bed right before it
comeon sense Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Wilner's turd polishing skills are unmatched. Amen !
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Cliffs on Wilner is he still claiming we are in it?
comeon sense Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Cliffs on Wilner is he still claiming we are in it? Yes,but its less than last night.Says we are all but out of it,but its only because we play seattle for 4,so its all mathematical.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Nothing against Wilner,he has a tough job,but i would like to listen to Roger Lajoie,to see what he is like after a crappy loss.

Almost every ones better Wilner is just not objective. If you listen to him you'd think this franchise has won 3-4 championships in the last ten years. Its been 21 years

nextyear Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I think the Blue Jays need to focus on players who get upset when they lose: For example, the following players don't seem to like losing and will do almost anything to win: Bautista Cabrera Reyes (I am not sure about Reyes since he has had some clutch hits and some game losing errors, but I think he seems upset when the team loses) Lawrie Kawasaki Encarnacion Goins Navarro Pillar (although I don't think he can do much to help win with his bat, he goes all out on defence. He has the heart just not enough skill for now) Valencia (I think he wants to win but hasn't had enough time with the Jays to show whether he can help or not) Players who seem just as happy whether the Blue Jays win or lose: Gose Lind Rasmus I didn't include the pitchers since most of them are unhappy when they lose.

comeon sense Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Bautista was ENRAGED at the ump for that 1st pitch strike call.He wanted to hit him with his bat, even after hitting the HR.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Gose just needs to be bitchlapped a little as a reminder to be angry when he should be. BTS Community Moderator Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Lind and Gose have definitely been the problem this year. Definitely.

nextyear Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 When I watched the Baltimore Orioles they all seemed so serious about winning. It seems that a strong desire to win is one of the ingredients of a winning team.

nextyear Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 http://media.giphy.com/media/10o3Um2U3wa4DK/giphy.gif I often wonder if George and the Yankees management portrayed on Seinfeld was a fairly accurate portrayal of the Blue Jays management. I have a feeling that it isn't that much different .
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Gose's OPS now down below .600, a full 100 points lower than last year
nextyear Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Gose's OPS now down below .600, a full 100 points lower than last year With his speed he should be trying to get on base any way he can but unfortunately he sometimes seems to be swinging for the fences.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 The O's will lose in their 1st playoff series if you build a team of players who just aren't good enough it really doesn't matter how much individual players want to win. Winning has to be an organizational desire from top to bottom. Jays don't have that.
shortstop Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Showalter hired on July 29th, 2010. Duquette hired on November 8th, 2011. Call in bringing in the right people or having the right philosophy/approach that works for that market/team...whatever it is, he's pushed the right strings, along with Showalter. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/09/06/sunball/pdB2SYj7Uw82XMlhiJEswM/story.html "Fast forward to Baltimore, and Duquette says in Year 3 with Showalter he has a tremendous appreciation for his manager. “He’s a true professional, so well-prepared for every game,” said Duquette. “Buck takes a game-by-game approach. Do everything to win the game at hand. I think we’ve had an excellent working relationship. Trying to improve the team is a collaborative effort.” "Duquette, who last year received a contract extension through 2018, as did Showalter,"

They stand to lose most of their core from the 2012-2014 teams this offseason, with Hardy, Markakis and Cruz expected to get bigger offers elsewhere in free agency. And the 2012 team was inflated by their strong bullpen.. it didn't do them any good vs. a veteran Yankees team in the ALDS. Only the 2014 team has been legitimately good and not a fluke.. and will likely lose to Detroit or KC in the ALDS, teams with significantly better pitching, and in Detroit's case, better hitters. The 2015 offseason stands to be even uglier for Baltimore, with Wieters and Davis being free agents as well. Oh, and the O's farm is weak.. after Bundy and Hunter Harvey, the farm system drops off a ton..
shortstop Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Fair enough - but they've in & will be in the playoffs.

And don't expect the O's to find help on the farm.. Norfolk was terrible this year, and Bowie was mediocre, with nothing on the farm that will help replace their upcoming free agents. Basically, the O's are going to have to spend heavily, or risk spiraling back to mediocrity, similar to Boston this season.
Vincent Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 FYI: There's still a 0.1% chance to make the play-offs...
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
