RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 who cares if he is suspended. he's had enough work on his arm anyway. I would actually shut all the young gins down now Esp Sanchez
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 One missed, one hit as well (and I doubt Stroman was aiming for the head). I think you only punish based on the intent. Both were clearly intentional, so punish both or punish neither. If the chirping after by Stroman was initiated by him, then tack an extra few on. For all we know, he was responding to something someone was yelling from the Orioles bench (although he shouldn't have regardless). It doesn't matter what Stroman was aiming for because it looked like he was throwing for his head. Im just saying why he got the suspension..Not sure why people are upset that one of our young arms start gets pushed back a couple days in a lost season
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Also this is extremely racist. LOL Random note Watched the Simpsons movie for about the 10th time last week. Every time I do, I laugh at new jokes I somehow missed other times. This time it was Mr. Burns sitting at his giant desk with 3 people asking him for electricity. His initial response "Aha, for once the rich white man is in charge!"
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Kind of been going on for 20 years now since the last time we won the series and baseball fans on the US shattered Since the mlb makes sure that there is no chance for TO The only people making sure that Toronto doesn't have a chance are Beeston and AA.

MTL over NY in 4-IMO. Wonder what would have happened if american teams were leading all 4 divisions instead of a french speaking city from Canada.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 The Jays will appeal and will find a way to carry this over into next year. Watch.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 The Jays will appeal and will find a way to carry this over into next year. Watch. They'll probably drop the appeal immediately after the game on Saturday.
Vincent Verified Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Anything to distract from this fail of a season is considered successful marketing by the Blue Jays
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 They'll probably drop the appeal immediately after the game on Saturday. That would be the smart thing to do.
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Did the Milwaukee guy who hit Stanton get suspended?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 DeSclafani (Marlins) suspended 3 games, and Fiers fined (Milwaukee) I don't understand why Fiers would be fined? It's not like he meant to hit either Stanton or Johnson.
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Fires hit Stanton then Johnson after warning issued but no suspension Discanfiil got 3 games after hitting guy after warning Workman got six game after headhunting after warning issued Stroman - no warning. Did not go at him again after pitch missed. He responded to chirping from Baltimore bench. How can they determine intent? Very interesting 6 games makes no sense. Not consistent
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 The O's announcers are annoying. They should throw at everyone now and set a statement going into next year!

Based on stroman suspension I don't get how fiers did not get suspended. How do u know fiers intent was different from stroman?

How do u know fiers intent was different from stroman? Both should not have been given suspensions IMO. It was evidently more intentional that O'Day plunked Bautista after Showalter lost his s*** for no reason.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Hit them all in the head next game and ruin their chances in the playoffs. We got nothing to lose anyways.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Well deserved. Head hunting is no way acceptable. Head hunting and crowing about it in front of your dad qualifies as losing your s***. Love the guy but he needs to smarten up. True. Best for the Jays to retaliate by spiking an Oriole, a real hard slide, or just "Albert Belle" someone.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 True. Best for the Jays to retaliate by spiking an Oriole, a real hard slide, or just "Albert Belle" someone. Best way to retaliate is for Reyes to man up and learn to slide instead of blaming the opposition for his mistakes.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Best way to retaliate is for Reyes to man up and learn to slide instead of blaming the opposition for his mistakes. With the uncertainty of the catcher blocking the plate rule, isn't sliding pretty much the only option when the catcher is making a play at the plate?
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Best way to retaliate is for Reyes to man up and learn to slide instead of blaming the opposition for his mistakes. On the otherhand couldn't the same be said about Howie Clark manning up and accepting that a person yelling "Ha" doesn't mean "I got it"
Gorlak Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 No way was Stroman head hunting, No way he's that stupid. Also he missed by a couple feet the other way 2 pitches later.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 With the uncertainty of the catcher blocking the plate rule, isn't sliding pretty much the only option when the catcher is making a play at the plate? Sliding head first is never the answer.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 On the otherhand couldn't the same be said about Howie Clark manning up and accepting that a person yelling "Ha" doesn't mean "I got it" ARod did it on purpose. Caleb Joseph did not intentionally step on Reyes and Reyes had no business going head first to home.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 He gets suspended for 6 games after losing control of a pitch thrown at a no body? Yet Bautista gets drilled for the 100th time on purpose and nothing happens.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 He gets suspended for 6 games after losing control of a pitch thrown at a no body? You must be joking. He just happened to throw a ball behind the head of the player that Reyes was made at? Look I love Stroman but there's no reason to be such a flagrant homer about this.

Look I love Stroman but there's no reason to be such a flagrant homer about this. Im talking about where it was. He wasn't trying to take his head off. I worded it wrong obviously, but the point is still valid. Does anything ever happen when Bautista gets hit
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Sliding head first is never the answer. At any base?

Not consistent MLB Baseball dont make no sense no more. Hasn`t for a long time. In Stromans case it just looked real bad,and the timing could not have been worse.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 At any base? There are places where it's worse than others but it's never a good idea.
