Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Why did Pillar not throw home???????????????? How does Reyes f*** up every single play???????????? Why did Bautista not get behind the throw???????????? Why did Tolleson make such a lousy throw to Reyes?????????? What the f*** was Gibbons thinking with so many dumb moves?????????? HELLO!!!!!!!!!! McFLY!!!!!!!!!!!! MCFLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://nachbelichtet.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/hello_mcfly.gif Kendall Graveman in for one batter, pulled so Loup could face 4 (5?) right handed hitters in a row. That was the game right there.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Wait, you guys are still emotionally invested in this season? I thought that ship had sailed like three weeks ago. I'm emotionally invested in the team, and a terrible, s***** loss is a terrible, s***** loss regardless of playoff implications.

Reyes is what he is, we know he isn't getting to those but wanted his bat. Never know about OF throws to the plate. The Tolleson play is the real kick to the nuts.

Art Vandelay Verified Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Appropriate song for this team:
bronson44 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Whoever suggested the song to help you get over the loss, that has turned into a fun game actually. Listened to; Mary Jane - The Vines - to cool down and stop myself from having a heart attack I Never Came - Queens of the Stone Age - still mellowing, but with some lamentation as well Plush (acoustic) - Stone Temple Pilots - lamentation, but with some hope for tomorrow Hurt - NIN - f***, we don't have time to think about winning tomorrow, this sucks Just - Radiohead - This f***ing team does this to me every year, why should I be suprised! Its like a soundtrack to my Jays fan experience in real time I feel much better now. I actually had never heard a Vines song before because I'm embarrassingly out of touch with recent music but once I played that song I immediately thought of STP (with a worse singer) so I'm not surprised to see Plush on your list. Have always loved all of the rest of these songs. But Brando wins for the song below yours. The cause of and solution to all of life's problems.

Pillar wasn't even medium depth. You make that throw every time through the cut off, the cut off cuts it off if it's not going to be close. If you have a chance to get an out you take it.

Are we talking Brandonthetool? I didn't know he was still around? Loved that guy.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Wrong. Pillar wasn't even medium depth. You make that throw every time through the cut off, the cut off cuts it off if it's not going to be close. If you have a chance to get an out you take it. he should have made that throw, but I'm just saying I don't think it caused that much trouble b/c I don't think it would have been close. Plus you never know if the cut-off guy makes the right call.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 *waves* well how about that... no wonder I always liked your posts.

Plus you never know if the cut-off guy makes the right call. An average arm should get him at that depth. It's the tying run man.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 well how about that... no wonder I always liked your posts. I am pretty f***in' clever and hilarious... But I no longer play in the band "Strap-On Tools" so the name no longer made any sense... Plus, Deadpool... duh!
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 An average arm should get him at that depth. It's the tying run man. Yeah, but whats worse. Giving up the tying run and giving them a win in the form of a sac fly (and second chance for a cheap single). Or giving up only the tying run. I'm not saying I totally endorse the no-throw, just that I don't 'mind' it (don't hate it outright)
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I think Valencia is a bright spot on the Blue Jays team. He made several plays tonight with strong throws to 1st. It is too bad that Reyes looked like he was asleep on the infield. Valencia range is non existent. Overall defence is weak

I'm not saying I totally endorse the no-throw, just that I don't 'mind' it (don't hate it outright) It was a really poor job of tagging up, and it wasn't a deep fly... I think the throw should have been made, outcome couldn't have been any worse (thanks captain hindsight!)

bill Verified Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 This game has sealed the fate of Jansen, if there was any doubt he was coming back next year
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Absolutely terrible managing. I remember a couple months ago when Stroman was pitching a shut-out against the White Sox. He purposely pitched around a tough hitter and Gibbons pulled him out of the game. First pitch from McGowan was a 3 run home run and the Jays lost. To me that was a turning point to the season. How can a team overcome such decisions? It's almost as if the manager does matter despite so many apologists on here arguing the contrary for the last two seasons!
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 This organization has no clue how important defense is. The funny thing is, ok, it can't be that funny if it makes some cry, but still...I remember reading during this past off season that AA was looking to improve the D. Anyway... AA says a lot of things. He basically lies to the fans but it's obvious he'll never do jackshit.
43211234 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I honestly think I have more range than Reyes does now.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I honestly think I have more range than Reyes does now. At some point you have to wonder is AA watching this Reyes bad defense cost us 3 runs today
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 The move to pinch run for Goins has to be one of the worst in history
kgm1 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Hope this loss just wakes up this team . The loss of Melky , the shitshow comedy of errors and the bad bullpen management should piss off every player and coach on that team. we'll see
