Johan or Sanchez: who is the better starter in 2015?

IMO Sanchez easily, but then I also think that Sanchez will be fine in the rotation next year, unlike a lot of others. I would still be in favor of Johan though, and move Sanchez to the pen for a year. We really need the help in the pen.

Ronald Belisario: Belisario has received interest from the Nationals, Blue Jays, Red Sox and Rays

Are we linked with all righties FA relievers?

This face would get annoying really fast if he starts to stink it up:

The difference is that Dan's beard is magnificent, and Lind was sporting ginger goat pubes.

You wouldn't say that to his, or my face for that matter.

If you haven't heard anything about him, chances are AA's making a deal with him now.

He's talking injury factor, not a whisper on his status.

Corner of Church and Wellesley, 11:30 AM, bring your "boys".

Are you new to streetfights? 11:30 AM is a ridiculous time.

Complete disregard of a well established board meme. 1/10 would ban for 24 hours.

That was about as opposite to the board meme as you can get.

Baseball is crazy. If you were to tell us a year ago that Colby Rasmus would walk after 2014 and give us nothing in return we'd assume we just lost a great asset that will leave a big hole on the team.

It all went downhill after "corner of". Place, time, number of people engaging...just terrible.

Rasmus is a perfect example of why it's smarter to sell high on head cases rather than depend on them. Trading Lawrie when they did was smart. Beane will get one or two good seasons out of him and then trade him before he has to count on him in expensive years. Jays didn't learn from Yunel and Rasmus, but luckily they did with Lawrie. Acquiring guys like that for little is great value but you need to know when to cut bait. I was pleading to trade Rasmus last winter yet AA counted on him, and he got burned.

And if 3 years ago the Jays traded that kind of package for the unknown non-prospect Josh Donaldson AA would have been burned at the stake. That's the beauty of the game.

Around this time last year I was clamoring pretty hard for a Rasmus extension and a 3-year Infante deal, and s***ing on the idea of signing Santana. Oops.

He seems like more of a tumblr guy IMO.

Outside of facebook, I've got an account to follow writers and news outlets on twitter and that's probably the extent of my use of social media. Question though; how would you know what a "tumblr guy" would seem like?

Different kind of the same problem. Lawrie was a douche with self-entitlement issues the moment he was acquired (see his quotes during his Brewers days). Rasmus wasn't the same type of headache (his issues were allegedly with coachability, his father, etc), but he was traded for way less than he was worth by an organization that churns out quality talent via their system every year. Yunel fits the same category (allegedly a bad teammate in Atlanta, attitude issues, etc). Now in some cases it could be management portraying the player that way rather than reality, but in the case of these three, I think it's pretty clear there were issues with them. There is a reason these guys were acquired for very little relatively speaking (Marcum was a good starter for a couple of years).

Like I said, Rasmus should have been traded last winter. His BB:K rate was bad, he benefitted from a high BABIP, and he has a history of inconsistent performance. What happened with him in 2014 was entirely predictable.

I was doing all of these things. Except I was OK with a 4-year Infante deal.

That's your take man, yer dumn in my eyes. As I see value in both ballplayers as I've said all along, big risk with Pompey, I'll agree Rasmus should've been moved last year, especially when you sit him for a month?
