TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 AA (on Martin): "We decided very early on that this was going to be our first target in the off-season. He's really the key to the off-season for us." AA: "I certainly hope it's not the last thing we do. We're definitely trying to do more things." AA says Navarro didn't make a trade request: It's something I brought up right out of the chute. It's clear, it's a free agent year for him. AA adds on Navarro: "He's a guy who deserves to play every day behind the plate and he did a great job for us."

Given the current state of the OF depth chart, a claim would make sense. You can always try to work something out down the line when rostering him is no longer an option.

Laika Community Moderator Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Interesting on Delino. Guys got good talent, but it would be hard to keep him on a roster for a year. I know he moved to CF this year, but I wonder if he can can play 2B at all... if he could, great bench fit for Toronto. Feliz probably goes very high. Pretty sure he throws like, 99. With a future relief profile anyway, no harm in a team paying 50k to let him try to jump all the way to a big league bullpen. Juan Nicasio DFA'd by Colorado also. I'd easily pick him up and stick him in the pen.

He had a down year but he has decent K and BB rates. The speed is real and he has a little pop. I agree he could be a nice bench piece with an outside shot of being something better.
Governator Community Moderator Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Time to flip some prospects: Osuna + Pentecost + Nolin + DSJ for Samardzija Our future rotation for many years, and imagine if we got Lester: Shark Stroman Hutch Sanchez Norris Isn't Shark a free agent after next season?

The Brewers plucked Wei-Chung Wang out of the GCL, and kept him on their roster for the course of the entire year.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Remember when Grant drafted Deshields in the BBDL and just couldn't stop congratulating himself?

King Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 7m7 minutes ago Feliz will be picked. King Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Rule 5 deadline coming...... Jays have added Ryan Tepera
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Time to get rid of a catcher.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Navarro will be traded for prospect to make room for Stilson. do you think that AA can get that done before the rule 5 draft?
King Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 do you think that AA can get that done before the rule 5 draft? I think, it has to be done by tonight? lol
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I think, it has to be done by tonight? lol I think so too.... AA said they weren't doing anything in the next 24 though. It will get done, but not in time to save anyone and I would expect the Jays to get someone else who would take that spot.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 91 days 3 hours and 57 minutes until spring training.... way too long. I miss baseball.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 do you think that AA can get that done before the rule 5 draft? Maybe. 3 hours deadline
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Maybe. 3 hours deadline only makes a difference if they get back a player(S) with options.
King Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Maybe. 3 hours deadline Michael Feliz will not fall to our pick in the draft, unless he is injured..

Pillar will not be this team's starting LF
