If Reyes could hit the way he's supposed to (like last year but without the injury, and his days with the Mets) and provided at least average/mediocre defense, we might be able to swallow the $22M a little easier but damn, he's failing out loud every step of the way this year. I was hoping he'd at least be better offensively this year. *slams head on desk*

Honestly I dont think his contract is that much better then Wells. I'd take Kawasaki over him right now at the plate

Stroman gets traded, I will no longer be a fan of this team. The end.

If either Stroman or hutch are even touched, AA should be fired on the spot

They better not pull Stro early today or put McGowan into a high-leverage situation. Our game to win.

only to watch navarro ask for a offspeed pitch when they can't hit McGowan's fastball

I love Stroman and Hutchison, but Hutchison's had a TJS already, if some team made a great offer, I'd at least listen on either of them.

believe me, most of mcgowans pitches are hittable

Believe "them", if it wasn't for Navarro, Jays' pitchers wouldn't give up any runs.

His fastball has been much better when they shifted him to the bullpen. 96-97 mph moving fastball is a tough pitch. I think thats all he should throw

It seems they both fell apart after getting their respective deals. Kawi seems to be doing about the same job defensively, if not better at times, and costs a hell of a lot less. Offense wise, Kawi is working the counts, making contact, trying to make things happen, at least giving the pitcher a bit of a hard time whereas Reyes, like last night's game, swings 2-0 at a ball in on his hands. Ugh!

i've always felt speed is overrated, it's just a matter of getting the timing down. if you throw nothing but fastballs you're gonna get burned.

in all fairness to "them" navarro is pretty terrible in almost every aspect of the game, it's a shame he got a "decent" contract because everyone and their mother knows kratz should be starting on this team

We need RISP practice urgently.

2 runs for 8 hits again.

3-8 w/ RISP though. The problem is just that a lot of hits have come with two outs and they have the DP.

Navarro's contract isn't big enough to preclude the Jays from playing Kratz more. And yes Navarro is terrible, but people go overboard, that's the point, especially when they blame pitch calling when a pitcher hangs a slider in the middle of the plate and it gets hit.

I thought it was f*** this team?

You are talking about one of the most negative posters in here - This individual only feels bad things are going to happen at every turn. Not sure if he ever ventures out of his shelter cuz the sky might fall and hit his head. ;)

Stroman is so freaking good. It's unconscionable.

FIP coefficients: 7.89 / 1.97 / 0.76. Each one is great. A real gem.

I love Stroman's slider, might be my favourite pitch next to that infamous Daniel Bard's 94 mph change up

Where does Robert Coello's forkball rank?
