Jays: Stroman was tagged for six runs and eight hits over 3 2-3 innings July 9 against the Angels, but escaped without a decision in an 8-7 loss. That performance was in stark contrast to the rookie's first seven starts, a stretch in which he posted a 2.08 ERA while completing at least six innings six times. Stroman is 3-1 with a 2.20 ERA in five home starts, walking five and striking out 30. Despite being on the DL, Toronto's Edwin Encarnacion became just the seventh player in MLB history to record 25-plus HRs/70-plus RBIs prior to the All-Star break in consecutive seasons, and the first since Alex Rodriguez and Lance Berkman did it in 2001-2002. Toronto has won six of its last seven series against the Rangers in Toronto, but the Blue Jays will have to win their next two games to make it seven of eight. Rays: Lewis endured a dreadful outing his last time out. He was charged with a club-record 13 runs - 11 earned - over 2 1-3 innings in a 15-6 loss to the Angels on July 10. The righty also gave up a career-worst 13 hits, while his ERA increased by more than a full run. Shin-Soo Choo will not play the outfield at all during the Rangers' three-game series in Toronto, manager Ron Washington said. Choo served as the club's designated hitter Friday and is likely to get a day off so third baseman Adrian Beltre can get a game at DH. Elvis Andrus has had six seasons with at least 20 steals, which is the most 20-steal seasons in Rangers history. He stole his 20th base of the season against the Angels on Saturday. JFD Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 another casualty of the turf. Bautista is not impressed.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Ouch! The grounds crew will be getting a nasty letter from Rios and the Rangers. I feel for the Rangers with all their injuries. Seems like Rios might be OK but damn they keep piling up injuries.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Jpa is a better option than navarro at this point. I have not seen a worse catcher at actually catching the ball. At least 15 times a game navarro just gives up on a pitch that is clearly a strike and the ump calls it a ball because navarro just flicks his glove at the ball (not sure why he does this). On top of this he has been terrible on the bases ( is he the slowest player in baseball) and at the plate. Can someone explain to me how navarro is an upgrade?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Wow I just got on and the ump is already squeezing us hard.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Lol, Johnson really didn't want to catch that.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Another good play by Johnson! Kind of "awe s*** no one is taking it?"
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 The Jays lineup will probably give me nightmares, holy crap that is one s***** lineup
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Lol, Johnson really didn't want to catch that. "Kawi, you got it? Gose? Someone? I don't want it? Oh f***, I'll take it then!"

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Lewis: 6.54 ERA Watch him turn into Cy Young this game lol He's getting extremely unlucky, .410 BABIP and although he doesn't induce a lot of groundballs has decent K and walk numbers. His xFIP is 4.35.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Leave him he is more entertaining than the actual guy The actual guy actually talks baseball, and provides good discussion.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Have you reported it yet? I'm too lazy to do it. done
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 He's getting extremely unlucky, .410 BABIP and although he doesn't induce a lot of groundballs has decent K and walk numbers. His xFIP is 4.35. I see, but his overall numbers still indicate that we should be able to score a few runs off of him.
