The throw would have beaten him to the plate even if he was going full bore, that lucky bounce is what killed the play.

Yes, he should have hustled more, but I doubt it would have made a difference.

If he slides he likely slides right in to the tag too.

Luck? You mdon't leave the game to luck. If that were a player who hustles his ass off' date=' like Kawasaki for instance, that's an automatic run. It was a bad review call, but it only went to review cos Reyes took it for granted and didn't run as he should. I mean why the f*** turn around to see where the ball is? Run your ass off, do your JOB and get to home plate as quickly as you can and it doesn't f***ing matter where the ball is.[/quote']

It's possible whoever was at the plate didn't help him out so Reyes thought the ball had gone into the outfield and took a look.

Huh? If he were hustling right from the get go, he beats that throw by a full step if not two. He beat it without going anywhere near full bore, so you're telling me that if he is it doesn't make a difference? LMFAO.

Kratz C

That makes more sense. I thought it was Kratz but I scrolled to 1st page to double check, and the game info says Thole.

You mean the feeling we are supposed to have with Dickey?

It's been a year and a half of Dickey which is enough time to readjust your expectations of him. Once you do, he's still pretty fun to watch and he isn't a bad pitcher.

He was f***ing safe, MLB review office is a f***ing joke.

Seriously a conspiracy, someone in the Toronto Blue Jays head office should make this known.

That being said Rivera is one of the worst third bases coaches in recent memory

I can't speak to his performance when he's doing his job well (which is when he's invisible), but he needs to pipe down on plays like that. The ball clearly didn't go that far and he was right there to recognize that.

Reyes also needed to turn on the gas too.

You know racism, when you show bias against another race or country. As in Canada, Different country than America

He didn't beat it at all, he stepped around the tag, the throw beat him... I believe you seriously overestimate the difference in speed Reyes hustling v/ not hustling would make over a distance of 90'.

I could be way off-base here, but I don't know, I get this strange feeling of almost expecting the Jays to win everytime Stroman is out there. Is that just me? Never had that feeling about Buehrle, or Morrow, or Romero at any point. Come to think of it, I haven't had that feeling about a pitcher since Halladay.

I'm not saying that I expect him to be that good this early on, but it's just a random instinctive feeling I get everytime I see him as the probable pitcher. It's probably just me.

I know what you mean

Racism has a very specific definition, and national bias does not fit it. Canadians are not a "race".

That's xenophobia actually. Not racism.

That's possible. But again, it doesn't matter, you don't take anything fore granted in this game. If he got up and used one of his TOOLS, his speed, he scores with ease on that play. It wouldn't have even been close.

See Kawasaki yesterday tag up on that Bautista line drive? He knows he scores either way so he doesn't take anything for granted. He goes right back to third off the crack of the bat and scores.

Honestly Mastro in the lineup is just giving away outs. Plain and Simple. Rasmus should be starting, how is supposed to get on a roll if he stays on the bench.

Not a fan of this platoon setup especially since Gibby is platooning MLB players with AAA players

Seriously.. If he wasn't looking back while he was "jogging" to home, he would have easily been safe going in standing up. I think Reyes got a glimpse of the bounce that was coming back towards the fielder and might have been contemplating holding up and get in a run down, but then decided to continue home with the thought of probably being thrown out.

No, I don't think I do, going full speed over 90 feet makes at least a stride of two difference at that distance. He wasn't running full speed there or even close to it. You could see him actually slow a bit as he turns around and see him pick it up quite a bit after he was already half way there. His speed made a difference at 40 feet, never mind 90
