jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 So the guys who have been the object of this boards latest hate win this one for us single handedly. Dickey pitches great and reyes drives in the runs. Well finally these guys did something...
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 JaysTalk with Mike Wilner on now!!!

Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Can't believe we brought up a guy who didn't even want to play any more before Kawasaki.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Did I see Dusty hit 99 on the gun tonight or am I retarded?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Missed the game on a Calgary Stampede "date". Caught only one AB when she went to washroom and it was Reyes tater. Checked stats and Dickey looks like he pitched a gem. Dude takes a licking from the fans but that was a big start for us. REYES finally doing what he can do tonight. Keep it up boys! NYY lost. 14 hits??!!
sh3156 Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Just for fun you should take a closer look how Dickey pitched this season. As I posted twice recently, his form was getting quite good. So what happens, he faces a team on a huge home winning streak and pitches a 7 inning 4 hit shut out. Basically what a veteran stopper does. Give it a rest. Things were in Dickeys favor and he pitched well. Even Dickey doesn't know how he will pitch day to day. He has pitched well and is not the problem but he is not capable of putting teams on their back
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Couldn't sleep so I woke up to see that the Jays won... YEEeeeEEESSS!! And Reyes omg... I promise I won't insult you until the AS break!! Good job boys!!
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 last time Dickey got touchy feely he wrote a couple chapters about it in his book. Not sure why nobody else mentioned it but s*** like this should be completely unacceptable, especially from a mod.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 So, two of our most maddeningly inconsistent players (Dickey and Reyes) essentially won this game for us I gather? Good job
sh3156 Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Jays need to follow this up today and potentially save the road trip.

Not trying to be pious but I sincerely agree. Never see the humour in making light of someone specifically who has been sexually abused and has guts to come out. Do some service work with and know Sheldon Kennedy pretty well here in Calgary who gives a lot back but the stories he hears and shares are troubling of how many kids this happens to.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Man, a couple series wins in a row would be soooooo fantastic. I hope to god E5 is okay to play after the 15 day stint. Lawrie must be close.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Did I see Dusty hit 99 on the gun tonight or am I retarded? Yep, with some 98's and 97's. He was dealing and unleashing. What a difference from a knuckleballer pitcher. It was such a good idea for the Angels to bat Freese when they did, he wasn't messed up from the knucklers and it paid off with a rip off of McG.

Lawrie must be close. I would be surprised to see Lawrie in the lineup before early to mid August so that's still a long way off. Playing consistently with any injury is a disaster waiting to happen. Bautista looks like he still has not recovered completely, Lind can barely field the 1B position with him hobbling after the ball (reminds me of Cabrera in LF last year), and there is something definitely wrong with Reyes (not sure if it is only his shoulder) cuz that's not the real Reyes at SS. I can understand desperate times require desperate actions but the bigger picture needs to be looked at and addressed now if it is not already too late. I do not think any other team in MLB can overcome such a blow to their lineup and still keep their head above water. I am sure all of this is going through Anthopoulos' head at the moment however it looks as if his strategy has backfired miserably. I can only hope he has not become paralyzed by disappointment and uncertainty and makes a sensible decision soon. The AS break cannot come soon however right after the break the Jays will be playing 22 division rival games before the end of August.

1878NHLYR Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Good afternoon my blue brethren. Last nights game was too late for me to follow as I was up very early this morning. I then left for work without my phone and I don't do a job with internet access so only just got in and checked ESPN f***ing great to get home and see we won, it's cheered me up.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
