jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Back to a 7 man bullpen. Cecil is activated off the 15 day DL. To make room, Anthony Gose was optioned to AAA Buffalo. Considering his struggles, Rasmus expected to return tomorrow and lefties on the mound, he was better off playing every day in Buffalo. Expect Glenn to be optioned shortly as well for Kratz when eligible.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Let the despairing continue So OF today is LF - Cabrera CF - Mastroianni RF - Glenn Brutal brutal brutal
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 Gose gone???????? Three lefties on the mound and not enough production from him, and having too many OFs pretty much sealed his fate.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 Let the despairing continue So OF today is LF - Glen CF - Mastro RF - Cabrera Brutal brutal brutal Other way around : LF Cabrera CF Mastro RF Glenn
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I only want to watch today when Stroman is pitching and Bautista is batting It's a two-man show
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Three lefties on the mound and not enough production from him, and having too many OFs pretty much sealed his fate. Bradd Glenn may be right-handed but he doesn't really bring much to the table. I'd rather the guy who can play CF and provide some speed even if he is left-handed.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Time to create "Can Glenn stick?" thread
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Three lefties on the mound and not enough production from him, and having too many OFs pretty much sealed his fate. Yeah but now you cant bring him up for another 10 days. So after these 3 days we are stuck with Glen who is useless. Might as well have Gose in there becasue he at least provides value on defence while Glen doesn't.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Time to create "Can Glenn stick?" thread At this rate he just might due to attrition
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 At this rate he just might due to attrition Jays FO is very smart. Glenn will receive his opportunity and when he's 0-40 then, they'll send him down.
Convo Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Gose SLG .284..... didn't even know it was possible to SLG that low... don't love or hate this move, is what it is... but having Cecil back is a major plus

Governator Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Looking forward to seeing catchable balls get turned in to triples today.

Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 The jays probably wanted to keep Kratz at AAA to help the Sanchize development. That is how there miniscule brains work.

McD Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Horrible move. Why demote the only one of the three who can help this team win in anyway. Kratz up has to happen....please?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 On a related note, is there a bigger waste of a roster spot than Josh Thole??
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 No AA promised Buffalo a winning team Then, send Stroman back to AAA and call up Hendricks
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Then, send Stroman back to AAA and call up Hendricks OK, it wasn't THAT much of a promise
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 On a related note, is there a bigger waste of a roster spot than Josh Thole?? Thole is the only catcher at MLB who is able to catch the best pitcher in the game (RA Dickey)
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 On a related note, is there a bigger waste of a roster spot than Josh Thole?? Wouldn't it be ironic if Dikey has more success throwing to Kratz? This obsession with maintaining this battery intact despite underwhelming results is really strange and innefective roster management. I wonder how much of Dickey's value is lost by carrying Thole? It's probably more than enough to cancel out the Dickey effect.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Thole is the only catcher at MLB who is able to catch the best pitcher in the game (RA Dickey) That's the funny thing. This personal catcher business would be so much easier to justify if Dickey were pitching well but there's really nothing about Dickey's performance that justifies this indulgence.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Gose has had countless opportunities to perform and he's failed in epic fashion every single time. Guy can't hit, can't bunt, can't get on base enough to use his speed. He's an all glove fringe 4th OFer. See ya later bud.

His game is a mess but at least he has skills. What does Glenn have?
