In all seriousness though....This is fantastic news. A healthy Morrow would be huge for the Bluejays. Pretty sure Ang was just trying to troll.

Reverse psychology or reverse karma.

I think Morrow is no longer a viable option for the Jays. McCarthy, Kendricks, Ian Kennedy available

Agree. Rarely does a guy come off injury and pitch 100% effectively... takes time to return to form. Every game counts right now.

Besides a brief stint a couple of seasons ago, this guy hasn't proven anything. "huge upgrade" is a little much, in my opinion.

Maybe a little much. But saying 'f***' a potential 3 WAR pitcher who we have to pay anyways is really dumb.

f*** potential. That word and Morrow have gone hand in hand for years, and the result is always the same. So maybe you're just "really dumb". Don't care about paying or not.

Morrow still has huge upside.

...........and Ruben Mateo is the most talented Dominican player ever.

I want to see results, i'm sick to see Morrow's flashes. If Morrow is our salvation, then we are lost

The Jays are paying Morrow $8M this season. They will try to get value out of his arm, and rightfully so. Outside of that 8 walk start, I don't think he was bad this season. If he is healthy, which is obviously a big if with him, then he is just as good as a July 31st pick-up (unless the alternative is David Price or a healthy Cliff Lee). I mean, are we really excited about Hammel, Kendrick, McCarthy, etc?

The Jays won't be spending money this season. Hoping for Morrow to come back and Sanchez to help out in the 2nd half is probably the likely scenario.

You can't put all your eggs in just one basket. Alex will think that Morrow is his solution, and he is not.

I'm pretty sure AA and Gibby are no longer counting on Morrow for anything.

He doesn't factor in to their plans

He wasn't bad. In fact, he even made it all the way to 6 innings pitched in one of his starts. Just one.

I never said he was great, but the numbers themselves were not bad.

9.11 K/9, 3.28 BB/9, 0.7 HR/9 (these numbers not counting the 8 walk start).

I'm not expecting anything from Morrow, but he's getting paid this season regardless and the other trade options are not much better than him.

Hooker slur, close your eyes

Morrow lasts less time on the mound than a hooker with a client's penis into her vagina.

So the hooker is cumming right away? Wtf?

Spanglish analogy failure.

Slot Morrow into the bullpen, he doesn't have the repertoire or command to start games.

You can knock Morrow for being somewhat injury prone since joining the Blue Jays and since we have lacked depth in our pitching staff it has been annoying. His injuries have really hurt this team. Fans get frustrated with Morrow, I totally "get it". However, for a pitcher that has put up a 9.6WAR since joining this team in 2010, I would consider it as great news to have him back in the starting rotation or the bullpen especially considering our recent injuries with Dickey, Cecil etc.

It's good news but people are skeptical, he has not been healthy or good since 2012.

How is this bad news on morrow? It sounds like he's progressing normally through his physical rehab program.

dat diabeetus tho. Some ppl are just born with bad genetics and/or upbringing but IMHO, that doesn't mean he can't live a healthy, normal career and life.

He just needs a bit more care and time to recover. He doesn't speak much, but when he does, he sounds like he knows what he's doing and doing what's best for him. I've never met him, but he seems like a man with good character, ethics, make-up, morals and integrity.

He's just a bit fragile at times, but what player and person doesn't have their flaws? I'm sure he's taking the best care of himself right now as he's getting up there in age, and nearing the end of his physical peak years. Time to make a real push and move forward when he gets back.

I'm sure he's going to come back better than ever!!!

The Mariners found this out year 1. We are still determining this year 7

We won the trade with Seattle.

I think I've seen every start he has made for us. Great stuff and tantalizing potential. Worth trying as we are paying him anyway, but have no faith the chandelier can get back to 2012 pre oblique DL status.

I'd like to see him in the pen if he returns(I know the Ms bounced him in and out). Sustained injuries and/or lack of command has been the norm and not the exception. Would be a godsend if he came back strong but I don't think we have the luxury of hope when I see what NYY sent out against us last night. (f*** you ump again...for good measure).

Yeah it's nice to make those kinda trades where you know that no matter how bad the guy we got is now, or how bad he ends up being, they're still trades that were essentially won the second they were made. Morrow is one. Santos for Molina, Delabar for Thames, and Kratz for Lincoln are all in that same boat as well.

Without looking it up, I'd say the Jays have really lost three trades straight-up since AA's tenure began five years ago; Fanky Figgs for Napoli, Johnson for Hill, and Rogers for Gomes. Coincidentally, all three can only be judged as wins in hindsight, as all three players had career years after the trade.

The Dickey, Reyes and Happ trades have decent potential to be losses in the future, but aren't as of this moment.

And until the verdict is in on those trades, the value they Jays have extracted out of trades they've stomped outweighs what they've lost so far (Morrow, Santos, Rasmus, Lawrie, Escobar, etc, etc).

Morrow is horrible. I'm tired of throwing guys out there cuz of their 'stuff'.

Happ > Morrow and after 9 major league appearances Stroman has as many wins as Morrow has had the last 2 years.

If we could turn him into an effective BP arm I'd be more than happy. Otherwise good riddance!

That's a very fair assessment imo. Hill still stings with our consistent 2nd base issues, but he was done here, and I didn't expect the AZ resurgence.

The RA deal has been beaten around enough. R.I.P on that. I wasn't a fan but I respect the cajones to go all in. I don't think there is a conclusion on that one.

The Blue Jays hope that Brandon Morrow (finger) will be back by the end of July.

Anyone who doesn't condiser Morrow an upgrade over Happ should be banned.

End of July.

That's best case scenario. Best case scenario never happens with Morrow. See you in September.

Morrow's talent is an upgrade over Strasburg or Jose Fernandez, but................

Can he stay healthy?
