Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 gregorMLB 47s Brandon Morrow is scheduled to throw a light catch on Friday. That's the first time since he suffered the injury in early May. #BlueJays
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Ang, this is not bad news.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 SNBarryDavis AA told me today they're hopeful @2Morrow23 can avoid surgery. Will know more after he plays catch Friday. #BlueJays
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 Ang, this is not bad news. I think Morrow is no longer a viable option for the Jays. McCarthy, Kendricks, Ian Kennedy available
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Great news. Hope he's back better than ever! Hutch needs his lookalike!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Morrow is mad at all of you for labeling him "injury prone"
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Morrow is mad at all of you for labeling him "injury prone" Yup. He was gonna tweet something to that effect but had to stop halfway through due to a hangnail.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 Hooker slur, close your eyes Morrow lasts less time on the mound than a hooker with a client's penis into her vagina.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Hooker slur, close your eyes Morrow lasts less time on the mound than a hooker with a client's penis into her vagina. ....I'm killing myself laughing, but not because it's funny....
orpheus Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Does anyone still have confidence in Morrow?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 You can never have enough pitching. If Morrow can string together a stretch of 7-10 really good starts, I'd be more than happy. Could be a huge help, and he's capable of doing that. He's much better than Kyle Kendrick.

You can't put all your eggs in just one basket. Alex will think that Morrow is his solution, and he is not.

JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 It would be great if he can make it back this year and do anything of value for the team. I doubt that will be the case. I don't think he is eligible to come off the DL until at least 7/03. They might think of him as another McGowan in the sense that he's had injuries, some of them somewhat flukeish, but he's young and still has a lot of potential so they might pick up that expensive option for him next year. There is still time for him to come back this year and contribute but it seems like if it's not one thing it's another with him. He's feast or famine. If he can come back and help out, it's a big plus, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I'd love for him to come back and pick up where he left off a few years ago before the oblique injury but anything he can contribute in a positive way to this team is literally better than what he's doing now.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 maybe his parents His father disinherited him after 8 walks performance against Red Sox.
billjc33 Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Seriously that was the worst and funniest joke I have heard in a while even though it didn't make any sense.

That's the first time since he suffered the injury in early May. #BlueJays You can knock Morrow for being somewhat injury prone since joining the Blue Jays and since we have lacked depth in our pitching staff it has been annoying. His injuries have really hurt this team. Fans get frustrated with Morrow, I totally "get it". However, for a pitcher that has put up a 9.6WAR since joining this team in 2010, I would consider it as great news to have him back in the starting rotation or the bullpen especially considering our recent injuries with Dickey, Cecil etc.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 How the f*** is this bad news? You do know we're running out JA Happ every 5th day, right?
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Just waiting for chappy to reply " I sent you a PM"
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I like how Angrioter is scrambling with nonsensical rants against Morrow after his poorly titled thread implying this was bad news was met with criticism instead of 100% agreement as he had expected. He forgot that the "woe is me" Blue Jays fans have all jumped off a cliff after they decided to jump ship to cheer for a team on pace for 100 losses
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 It's not nonsensical, he's just Mexican. Eh, actually, close enough
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 In all seriousness though....This is fantastic news. A healthy Morrow would be huge for the Bluejays. Pretty sure Ang was just trying to troll.
Nabru Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 What are the odds we have a fully functioning, productive Morrow pitching every 5 days in late July through the rest of the season? Not good I'm guessing.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 f*** this piece of glass If the "piece of glass" is healthy and under contract we probably shouldn't say "f*** him". Huge Upgrade over what we're running out.
Jonzo Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 If the "piece of glass" is healthy and under contract we probably shouldn't say "f*** him". Huge Upgrade over what we're running out. Besides a brief stint a couple of seasons ago, this guy hasn't proven anything. "huge upgrade" is a little much, in my opinion.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
