Jays: J.A. Happ will try to improve his efficiency after requiring 89 pitches to get through 3.2 innings of a 4-0 loss to Minnesota on Tuesday. He was charged with three earned runs, six hits and three walks. Happ gave up a solo homer to the currently-injured Matt Wieters while throwing 2.2 innings of relief in Toronto's 10-8 loss to Baltimore on April 23. He's 0-1 with a 2.65 ERA in three career starts against the Orioles. The first-place Blue Jays have dropped six of eight while homering just three times and averaging 1.9 runs per game. Brett Lawrie and Melky Cabrera - third and fourth on the club in RBIs - have driven in only one run each in that stretch while going a combined 2 for 11 with runners in scoring position. Orioles: Tillman comes off a loss despite limiting Boston to one run over six innings in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat. It marked Tillman's first losing decision in six starts even though he posted a 7.71 ERA in the first five of those games. The Orioles rotation owns a 2.95 ERA over the last 16 contests. ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Shore up the D, but why is Navarro at DH over Francisco? Who cares I guess, it's a terrible 6-9 in the order anyway...

Last 2 weeks for Francisco: .121/.121/.364 with some piss poor defense. He's playing his way out of the big leagues.

Thing is Navarro ain't much better if at all. The guy is horrible at the plate. As I said, it's a bad 6-9 anyway so I guess it doesn't matter, I just can't stand watching Navarro hit. At least Francisco can hit a bomb while Navarro brings nothing offensively.
S33n Verified Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Using Navarro as our DH is utterly embarassing
S33n Verified Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 We need a right handed bat and a pitcher, end the silliness.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Ca mon JA Happ, please don't suck today. Let's go Bluejays!
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Reminder for those who haven't participated in the home run contest, it is not too late to start!! G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 What's the word on Lind? I called a DL stint as soon as he hit his foot yesterday...
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 What's the word on Lind? I called a DL stint as soon as he hit his foot yesterday... The interview I heard last night he said it wasn't hurting much, but that doesn't really mean anything. Would be a pretty big blow. (see today's lineup)

Would be a pretty big blow. (see today's lineup) Today's lineup has nothing to do with Lind's foot or Franshitshow's underperformance. They always put out something like that against right-handed pitchers, it's just Gibby platooning his lineup.

Tillman is a righty so it is kind of not right that Francisco is sitting against a righty.... so it must be becuase Gibby thinks he sucks and Lind is hurting. I'll double check to make sure it is TIllman pitching and correct if I am wrong.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Tillman gives up a lot of fly balls too and has a low SwStr%. Perfect guy for Francisco to face. Yeah. Gibby picked a bad day to bench him. LOL
BarkatToronto Verified Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Yeah. Gibby picked a bad day to bench him. LOL Well he made a crucial error yesterday
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Tillman gives up a lot of fly balls too and has a low SwStr%. Perfect guy for Francisco to face. Francisco suck and you know it. Give the fatty man a day off to clear his mind.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Huh? Francisco is a lefty. He should be in there if you're playing the platoons. Same with Lind. Yeah you're right, I got it backwards. Sorry, just woke up. I can only assume they're facing a lefty today then, unless Gibby just flat out benched Huan.

The platoon is Francisco against RHP and Tolleson against LHP, which doesn't apply today. Gibbons is trying to shore up the defense with Tolleson at 2B, but what I don't get is Navarro over Francisco at DH.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Francisco's BABIP and HR/FB have finally regressed to what you'd expect and he still has a 135 wRC+. Play the man! I don't care what selective sample Wilner keeps updating on Twitter. The Big Juan is a productive player. With Lind out you can even DH him! Much better option than Navarro. FattyCisco wRC+ Mar/Apr - 138 May - 176 Jun - 34 Men In Scoring - 38
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 FattyCisco wRC+ Mar/Apr - 138 May - 176 Jun - 34 Men In Scoring - 38 The distribution of production doesn't matter. You can get in trouble slicing it up like that. The entire sample says he's a league-average bat or better.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Well he made a crucial error yesterday More like 3...
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 It's probably because he K'd against Tillman twice in 2 AB's. #Jayslogic
SantosLHalper21 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 The Jays offence stinks with or without Francisco. It's the fact he still can't hit a breaking ball and Tillman's strength is his offspeed pitches. It's a recipe for disaster. As for Navarro over Lind...the bruised foot is likely going to be a day off. With a day off tomorrow and then the Yanks on Tues. I expect Lind back, and likely Rasmus back too.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 we all expect them to be bad today, lets hope this is one of those "didn't see that coming" days and our offense goes wild on the Os.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 It would be nice if we could salvage the series with a split
