jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 f*** off. Obvious troll, see ya. lol. He probably was. Although I'd like to see fans of other teams having a little bit of a longer leash. It would be nice to have fans from other teams here to diverse the board a bit.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Zaun isn't impressed lol. Doesn't seem like he has any confidence in the team. Hope he's wrong. Zaun is dumb.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 It was BS. Oh well, just gotta come back strong tomorrow. Yep. Doesn't matter if we lose this series, just win the next one.

This team lost because they couldn't score runs, not because umps calling it one way over the other. I'm sure he had a bias against the Jays
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Great hustle by Lind. Francisco wastes the opportunity, oh well.

When it's so obvious they're just trolling... Punt them without prejudice.

Besides, I think it was one of our own trolls.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Yep. Doesn't matter if we lose this series, just win the next one. The big one coming up is the Orioles, going to be a fun series.
SantosLHalper21 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I found the Jays took ALOT of very hittable fastballs. Seemed like they were going in with the mindset they were taking before the pitch was thrown trying to work the pitcher.

I'm sure he had a bias against the Jays I never said it was malicious or bias. Just pointing out facts. Very inconsistant strike zone that favoured the Cardinals was a factor. hutch not pitching well was a much bigger factor.

Yeah they get this way sometimes, seems like they're so intent on working counts they forget to swing at the crushable ones.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Yep. Doesn't matter if we lose this series, just win the next one. 1st series lost in the last 8 or 9. Win 2 of 3 against Minny and it would put them 13 over .500 heading into Baltimore. 2 shutouts in a row should be used by coaches and Gibbons to keep them grounded and focused.

I'm sure he had a bias against the Jays Well, no one would disagree with your point. After all, can't win if you don't score. However, BS strikes called against you changes counts and at bats and can have an impact on. Anyway, on to the next series.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Making the adjustments. Let's hope that's the case and the adjustments stick.
labadee Verified Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 brutal game. hope the back to back SO will make them smarten up and be more patient. Saw a bit more of that today, but that ump stuck it to us
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 brutal game. hope the back to back SO will make them smarten up and be more patient. Saw a bit more of that today, but that ump stuck it to us Interesting that another poster thinks they were too patient and took hittable pitches. When a team is hitting well, it usually means they are swinging at the hittable pitches and taking balls and tough strikes. They probably got into a funk the last 3 games. I include Friday's game because while they got on base quite a bit, there were also some worrisome signs. Anyway, take 2 of 3 against the Twinkies and then 7 games against the AL East.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 So... BTS has given up on the Rays and is now a Cardinals fan??
labadee Verified Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Yeah they get this way sometimes, seems like they're so intent on working counts they forget to swing at the crushable ones. sometimes they just swing at everything as well. they just need the balance between working the count and being aggressive. We saw the jays be overly aggressive in the game against Verlander before they settled down. In this series we saw them try too much to work the count. Unfortunately, the ump wasn't great in the last two games, which made the jays go down in the count very early.
BarkatToronto Verified Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 So... BTS has given up on the Rays and is now a Cardinals fan?? I have heard of this. Its similar to when cults predict catastrophic events that don't occur, only instead of their beliefs being affected, they predict another catastrophic event
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Don't forget that the alleged traveshamockery of baseball that is the Seattle Mariners are sitting at 33-29, good for the 2nd wildcard spot. The Rayspists have the worst record in all of baseball (and no realistic future help on the horizon, this year or going forward), and the Jays and the M's are marching toward the playoffs. BTS may be catatonic at this point. Wait till the Twins go on a surge and get themselves right in that WC race...
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 The Rayspists DFA'd the rapist. I wonder if any other organization will be horrible enough to give him a chance, or if he'll stick with the Rayspists. I don't know why they would. It's not like the rapist is any good. That's what made it so strange that the Rays kept using him for so long. It's both bad PR and bad baseball decision-making.
Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 The last ywo games our offense has been the worst I have seen on the last few years. Dont know whats wrong bu we need to fix it and take the Minnesota series Two games is nothing. It's just a random event where we didn't match up well against a couple of pitchers. Vegas must have known something about the middle game because it looked like a mismatch for us and the line was only -1.30. Check out Boston if you want to see a streaky team ( lose 10, win 7, lose 5 ).
Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Making the adjustments. Re Sanchez : My instincts are still telling me that despite his struggles this season he has the best potential to be a game changing star from our system. We won't know for 2 or 3 years. If it was the Rays or As, no way they move him, he develops and becomes whatever he becomes.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Well this game wins for the most boring game I've ever attended. The most exciting thing was watching the roof open and close again. Second, was throw out a base stealer!!
