BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Face it this Team, This year, is just very likeable! Key word is Team.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I feel like Brett Lawrie is getting no love. He has done whatever the team has asked, he is playing 3b and 2b in a pinch (great d at both) and has come up HUGE in key situations at the plate. Lawrie has done a great job. His D is outstanding and that has transitioned well to 2B. He has been a great team player.
Art Vandelay Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Edwin Encarnacion. I believe in Edwin. I find it a bit ridiculous that not everyone is naming him as their favourite. But he makes hitting home runs look so effortless. http://gamereax.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/ee5th.gif
GNick Verified Member Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 You can only pick one It can be for any reason Be brief - 1 short paragraph on why (List a runner up if you must) I don't follow the Jays as close as most of you, baseball is not my top sport. However, of the few games I seen this year has to be Encarnacion. I almost said Buehrle as he reminds me of Jimmy Key in ways. But what amazing story EE is. Released 3 years ago, by Jays and Oakland, learns a new position now is one of most feared hitters in baseball
S33n Verified Member Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Did you see the Brunt documentary piece on him from the Dominican? Loved it. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/edwin-encarnacion-on-home-turf/ Seems like a humble guy who came from nothing and got through a lot of lows and adversity in MLB. Hasn't lost his roots. Great story. Cool video
shortstop Verified Member Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 joeybats, he brought Toronto back into the conversation with his amazing couple years of home runs... another is Buehrle - just in awe of what he's accomplished & continues to accomplish given the way he pitches/velocity...
Mac Outlaw Verified Member Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 My favorite player has been Juan Francisco. The biggest surprise of the team. Mark B is second
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Well if we're picking two... previously picked McGowan - who doesn't like a great comeback story No 2 is Gose - because for me, robbing a player of a hit in the field is the same as getting a hit at the plate..... if we add up the balls Gose has gotten to that Rasmus would not, he's batting .340

fapaholic Verified Member Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 JPA - because he's no longer here....... Seriuosly though, hard to choose between EE, Jose, Buerhle or Janssen.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 How long before one might be able to buy a Hutchison or Stroman jersey from the Jays shop??
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Edwin has been my favorite Jay since he first arrived here.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Lind. Basically because he's been my favourite Jay for years now (only named jersey I've ever owned is his). I struggled through his down years with him still as my favourite, so I'm damn well going to enjoy it while he's demolishing baseballs this year (and yay for the walk against the lefty tonight!)
