You can only pick one

It can be for any reason

Be brief - 1 short paragraph on why

(List a runner up if you must)

Casey Janssen

The rest of the bullpen was freaking me out. He came back and calmed everything right down. Thanks Casey.

Runner up: Jose Bautista

Hutchison - I think Hutchison is going to have some very good seasons. He's young and he is already pitching well.

Runner up - Melky, he can hit a bit.

Adam Lind's beard.

Before the beard this group just didn't gel together, however since the arrival of the beard, Lind has stepped up to a new level and the rest of the team seems to be feeding off this. Team chemistry seems to be through the roof and the beard seems to be a great clubhouse prescence. Hopefully AA can sign the beard to a long term deal, money should be no obsticle.

Bautista, Eddy, CJ, Hutch, MB, Melky, Lind

wow this team has been pretty good

It really is hard to pick just one. That's a good thing. :)

Probably Hutch because he has helped solidify the rotation; especially important with Dickey being an unknown quantity.

For a few years this team has had talent but needed someone to step up in the rotation: Romero, Morrow, etc. Hutch seems to be the guy that might develop into a guy you can depend on more often than not.

So many reasons to pick any given guy

Hutch - fantastic comeback from TJS

Buerhle - Career year so far, outperforming even any outlandish expectations

Edwin - Records set and smashed what a month

Bautista - Have never seen him so focused and determined and beastly and selfless all at the same time

Seitzer - may deserve some credit

Janssen - saved the bullpen's ass

Melky - we finally got the real Melky this year. He's a hit producing machine

Lind - so confident and steady now. Plus beard.

I'd add Walker to the list. Let's face it, if the team's pitching was anywhere as bad as last year, we'd be calling for his head and mustache to go. Heck, I think there was a thread calling for his firing in Apr.

The 3 Amigos behind the plate! Cause we have 3 toptencatchers all better then JPA!

Runner up:Platoon partners- for playing above and beyond my dreams in the field and at the plate! Not only that it helped remove the I mentality from or that plagued this team! The team approach and buying into the program has made them a better team.

Favourite Positional Player: Bautista

I really haven't been in love with Bautista the last couple of years, mostly because of his attitude but this year he's won me over with his new approach to the plate. He's the most well rounded player on the team and much more likable than in year's past.

Favourite Out of the Pen: Janssen

There's no one else I'd rather have closing out games, he knows his role, gets the job done and always seems happy

Favourite Rotation: Buerhle

There's no doubt Hutch is going to be here long term and hopefully a top of the rotation arm for us, but I don't know him well enough yet to call him my favourite. I've enjoyed Buerhle ever since he was with Chicago. The guy is about as real as it gets, never hot tempered, consistent on the mound and there's simply nothing I dislike about him.

It clearly, for me, hutch. He's a competitive sexy beast. Plus the jays dont develop much arms from the farm, so its nice to see a players development over the years.

I also don't remember there being a ton of hype for him, he's been a breath of fresh air from the farm for sure (injury notwithstanding obviously)

Yes, Bautista not whining like a bitch at umpires makes him so much more likeable.

Watching the bombs by EE makes him my favorite so far, many of his HR's have made me giggle to myself with glee :)

My favorite player to root for is Eric Kratz. He's not a guy having a big impact, he's the guy I'd like to see have a big impact. I even considered changing my avatar to KingKratz but decided that I should honour the memory of my deceased cat rather than erase it so that's not happening.

As far as players who are having an impact, I love to see Hutch having success. I called him the best pitching prospect in the system a few years back, ahead of the big 3, so in a selfish way I'm simply glad to be vindicated but far more importantly, I'm glad he's come back so well from his injury (something I had huge doubts about) and I think his success is a huge, possibly season saving, break for the Jays.

I also want to give out some huge props to Steve Tolleson who has given this team a huge lift. This team is like a whole new team now that they've found a way to deal with the 2B situation and the unspectacularly competent Tolleson has turned out to be a great under the radar pick up for the Jays. Even if Juan Francisco dissapears, the Jays at least have someone who could be part of a solid 2B platoon with say Kawasaki. That's a whole lot better than watching Ryan Goins every day (I genuinely feel bad for Goins for being so miscast, it's not his fault that the team was asking way too much of him).

And finally, who cannot enjoy Bautista answering the haters. It's easy to forget the extent to which the fan base was starting to turn on him. Even the usually innofensive Jerry Howarth was on his case. Bautista silencing his critics just feels very righteous.

How about Brett Lawrie? Showing a bit more calm and a much better approach at the plate, especially lately. Where he's most valuable is in the field, not just with actual good fielding, but with positional flexibility. Without him, there would be none of this insane platoon (SSS and regression obviously).

That's Troy Tulowitzki/Yasiel Puig level production we've got from this platoon when they have the advantage.

I feel like Brett Lawrie is getting no love. He has done whatever the team has asked, he is playing 3b and 2b in a pinch (great d at both) and has come up HUGE in key situations at the plate.

His ability to play 2B and 3B has solved this team's 2B AND to a large extent our bench problems.

Brett Lawrie is my favourite player on the team.

The bat is starting to come around to what some had hopes of (.330ish wOBA) and the elite defense + the awesome energy. Love him

Honorable Mention: Joey Bats. I don't think he needs a description

I pretty much love every player right now so I'll post the underdogs/people not everyone would choose first:

Positional: Melky. He had a lot to prove, after the steroid charges and the back tumor, extrabase-less season he's come back to be a great addition to the top of our lineup. Completely earning his contract.

SP: Hutchison. Okay, not really the guy people wouldn't choose, but he's been awesome. After looking promising before he went down with injury, he's come back even better, an integral part to our rotation. Honorable mention: Buehrle being Buehrle.

RP: Loup. Loup is f***ing nails guys.

Casey

Because he battles and uses command to buck the stats as a closer. He came back and seemed to stabilize our pen performance. I like his compete and he Throws Strikes! which is something we desperately needed from our pen.

Runner Up: Jose Buehrle (that's my way of cheating to pick two). The reasons are obvious.
