Long time before we have to even think about who we can trade for or who is even available. Trade talks won't even get going for another month . KC might have won their way back into things and be buyers instead of dealing Shields. Some might be on the DL and others might be suddenly available.

 

Right now the Draft is front and center then the signing period and THEN we get into trade season.

I'm not sure either were epic failures. What guy that we gave up are we actually going to really miss? Someone might step up but right now you can't definitively say that we made a major screw up.

I would look at trading all of Dickey, Happ, and Buehrle for prospects. With Stroman and Hutchison both being great thus far, with Norris, and Sanchez not far behind, why not cash in the other 3 pitchers and fill some holes. We can always sign a pitcher or two in the offseason. I'm not sure I'd stop there frankly.

 

The Jays, while being near the top of the AL east, they have been in a real tailspin for the last month, and the holes that were getting covered by the hot streak are coming out to play and it doesn't look good.

In all of baseball there isnt even one right handed bat available. Its all scouting scouting scouting. Jays are scouting Hill, Jays are scouting Headley. Seriously stop scouting. These are MLB players playing for years. You still don't know what they can do?

 

He should be addressing this problem today. Not at the trade deadline, not at the all star break, Today. We aren't asking for David Price or James Shields. For the love of God get a right handed batter here who can at least hit average

I know what you mean. It's so frustrating that they went all in half way. They got Buehrle Dickey and Reyes, but then stopped there when they just needed a couple other small things to go all the way in. Now they are stuck in no man's land of being not bad enough to just trade everyone away, but also so constrained that we can't seemingly afford another dollar.
