Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 I'd move Sanchez, not Stroman. Right now YES, 2 months ago No.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Right now YES, 2 months ago No. I have been saying Stroman>Sanchez for the past year. Sanchez has the higher ceiling, but I think it's a long shot he ever reaches it.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 All of AL East except Rays are winning/have won. The Yankees lost.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Oh snap. Didn't see that late inning 6 run outburst by Min. Yay distance. Anyway on topic, I'd still go for Shields. Jeff is just untested in AL... so its a bit scary to give any prospects to that.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 TBH i would surprised if Nolin is still apart of this organization if we continue to win. I think Stro and Sanchez will stay. I am thinking Nolin+ for Shields.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 You're not getting Shields on a package centered around Nolin lol...

OtisNixonFan Verified Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Aaron Loup, Aaron Sanchez, Dan Norris, Mitch Nay, and Derrick Loveless for Johnny Cueto, Cory Thompson and Curtis Partch. An extension is compulsory.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 And to this day it all still screams Beeston. Exactly. AA takes the heat but I'm firmly in the camp that ownership and the Beest forced this on him. Yet if they play in October who will care.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Long time before we have to even think about who we can trade for or who is even available. Trade talks won't even get going for another month . KC might have won their way back into things and be buyers instead of dealing Shields. Some might be on the DL and others might be suddenly available. Right now the Draft is front and center then the signing period and THEN we get into trade season.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Marlins trade was an epic fail and Dickey's trade even worse. I'm not sure either were epic failures. What guy that we gave up are we actually going to really miss? Someone might step up but right now you can't definitively say that we made a major screw up.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 What's the status on morrow anyways? He literally hasn't touched a baseball since he went on the DL I'm not even kidding
GoFlamesGo Verified Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I would look at trading all of Dickey, Happ, and Buehrle for prospects. With Stroman and Hutchison both being great thus far, with Norris, and Sanchez not far behind, why not cash in the other 3 pitchers and fill some holes. We can always sign a pitcher or two in the offseason. I'm not sure I'd stop there frankly. The Jays, while being near the top of the AL east, they have been in a real tailspin for the last month, and the holes that were getting covered by the hot streak are coming out to play and it doesn't look good.

They can't hit lefties at all. Other than that they would still be leading the division by 3 games right now. Unfortunately AA has absolutely no plan to address the issues. He sat on his but and watched three straight White Sox Lefties eat us up. Today he saw another. Jays will face Lefties 4 out of next 5 starts. Makes you wonder if he is even trying? In all of baseball there isnt even one right handed bat available. Its all scouting scouting scouting. Jays are scouting Hill, Jays are scouting Headley. Seriously stop scouting. These are MLB players playing for years. You still don't know what they can do? He should be addressing this problem today. Not at the trade deadline, not at the all star break, Today. We aren't asking for David Price or James Shields. For the love of God get a right handed batter here who can at least hit average

For the love of God get a right handed batter here who can at least hit average I know what you mean. It's so frustrating that they went all in half way. They got Buehrle Dickey and Reyes, but then stopped there when they just needed a couple other small things to go all the way in. Now they are stuck in no man's land of being not bad enough to just trade everyone away, but also so constrained that we can't seemingly afford another dollar.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Dickey needs to go if we crap out....in the meantime we need a big rh bat
