-Yankees are old as s***.

-Tampa is playing their worst baseball in decades.

-The O's pitching is worse than Mexico's education system.

-Boston is good and very deep team, but they are 6 games behind us.

Our team has proven it can score a lot of runs and prevent runs with his defense. The depth of our starting pitching looks good. The bench look great right now with Thole (We all hated him), Tolleson (appeared out of nowhere), Pillar (he's hitting the ball) and Gose (Our Savior) but ..............

We need smart moves to improve this team without mortgaging the future of this organization, trades like: Rasmus for a loogy +, Yunel for an old SS, Lawrie for injury prone starter or Delabar for a guy with nice beard.

1) I start to hate Aaron Sanchez: Sanchez, Norris + for Shark and Russell.

2) Esmil Rogers/Redmond+ for Dale Thayer

3) McGuire+ for Rutledge

What move you would do?

Sean Nolin, Dalton Pompey and Tom Robson for Ian Kennedy.

Hope and pray we stay healthy.

Too much for 1.5 season of Ian Kennedy.

"Ian Kennedy is headed to the San Diego Padres, and the Arizona Diamondbacks will receive reliever Joe Thatcher, prospect Matt Stites and a compensation-round pick in the 2014 draft." :)

Yeah, i don't know. He was pretty brutal last year when traded.

73ip of 3.43 era, 2.78 fip and 2.92 xfip and just a couple years removed from a 4.9 fWAR season. You think he would have decent value in a sellers market.

Previous success. Towers is really bad.

I'd look to move Rasmus and a reliever/b prospect for rotation help. Might not get us a stud, but should get us a solid, veteran mid-rotation guy and wouldn't hurt us long term, while we would be getting younger at CF.

Casey Janssen for Zach Lee & Yimi Garcia

Ang I would probably pay you to narrate my life if you didn't live in Mexico.

Good thread my brother.

Apparently, Alex returned to work in stealth-wise mode as it did before. He didn't take the bait: Hutchison + Sanchez for Shark or overpay for Ubaldo.

It's just a hypothesis, maybe tomorrow I turn on my laptop and see: Dallas Keuchel for Sanchez and Norris **BTS evil laugh here** but...........The things are looking good for now.

So you are saying the ninja is back?

His emphasis on not dealing away anymore of the farm suggests he is thinking more long-term which is great to see.

Marlins trade was an epic fail and Dickey's trade even worse.

A few thoughts:

I'm holding on to Stroman. At worst he's a reasonable #4/5 and he's cheap, young, has good upside and might help sell tickets. There's some excitement/entertainment factor with him. And if he reaches his potential he's a dependable #2 caliber starter.

I'm willing to part with Sanchez or Nolin but prob not both

Rasmus is easy ro trade away now thanks to Gose but not worth much as he would be a rental. realistically he's kept, qualified and signs elsewhere giving us a draft pick.

I'm willing to trade Rogers, Delabar, Santos, Happ, Redmond easily but none of them currently has much trade value, even in a group of 2-3, unless a team somehow really just wants to get cheaper and deal us an expensive starter like Lee or Hamels.

I'm willing to trade Francisco but he's bounced around so much I doubt any GM values this little flash of brilliance enough form him to have much value. At the same time, a smart FO would love to have Adam Lind. Kills RHP and contract is reasonable. But I can only trade him now if I think Francisco can keep this up and I don't trust that he can.

OK I have no proposal here just random thoughts. I'm glad I'm not the GM. LOL

I'd keep Stroman at this point for sure. This rotation needs cheap arms to fill it out. Hutch and Storman fit the bill.

I'd deal Nolin with Sanchez if its a pitcher coming our way. I figure we'd still have enough pitching depth if we got another arm (Dickey, MB, Mystery Starter, Hutch, Stroman is a nice rotation with Morrow, Happ, and Hendricks for depth).

Add McGuire to the equation.

I think you have to keep Stroman. There is no point in trading him for a expensive 1.5 year rental like Shark.

Also, I don't think you can trade Juan Francisco. See if he could continue hitting the way he has and maybe you got something on your hands. Another solid LHB who can crush RHP.

Rasmus I think you can move - just bad timing since he's a FA so you're unlikely to get much unless you take on another expiring contract or the equivalent of the comp pick.
