See you're only expecting higher than 91 wins now because of a hot streak. Every season has highs & lows, we haven't hit the lows yet. Maybe it's the years of mediocrity talking here but yes overall a realistic winning % is closer to .500 than .750 over the next 4 month period. I'd rather be set up for a surprise than a let down at this stage.

No that isn't anything what I said. That would make us a .500 club overall. A closer to .500 club here on out makes us a 9 or 10 game above .500 team with over 90 wins and a good chance at the playoffs. If you're expecting so much, where does it end? You are anticipating a 100 win team?

Everyone should know better not to get excited about a 9 game win streak in May. We won 11? straight last June and look where we ended up.

Dealing with the Jays right now is like dealing with an Alcoholic. They quit for 9 days and seemed to be doing very well, but they have always done this in the past. Last year the jays were able to lay off the booze for 11 games straight.

They haven't been completely sober in 22 years. This year now they went 9 games, now they're back on the sauce again. When does this relationship just become abusive? Do I need a divorce?

My issues with this team...

 

1. If we don't hit 2-3 bombs per game, we lose.

 

2. We must find a better option at 2nd or 3rd base. Playing guys like Goins, Kawasaki, Francisco, etc. Isn't going to cut it

You specifically said end point was arbitrary, and you were wrong. I could easily go back and pick June 1 as the starting point and the conclusion would be the same... they are all sucking. But this way had more value in showing WHEN they started sucking.

I seriously don't understand the constant panicking. Absolutely nothing was done to improve a 74-win team in the offseason except for ridding ourselves of JPA, and aside from one month where they got unsustainably hot, this year's team has been predictably mediocre. People are too focused on the fleeting division lead that the hot streak brought us (even I've been guilty of this sometimes) and ignoring the fact that the team's just not that good. I can't even be mad at these players because any division lead at all is overachieving to the extreme.
